Managing to vote for Brexit but not being able to fill in a form to get their correct benefit doesn't wash for me. Tax them deep, tax them hard.

I think answering a single question on a paper form with an X is a bit different to filling in over 240 questions spread over a 24 page document either in paper form or online …..

Exactly what damage is it doing
I cant even...

What is the cost of Brexit to the UK economy? Analysis by American bank Goldman Sachs published in February 2024 found that Brexit is directly responsible for the UK economy growing 5% less since the vote in 2016. Bank of England policymaker Jonathan Haskel as said that's around £1,000 per household.

By the end of 2021, Brexit had already cost UK households a total of £5.8 billion in higher food bills – new LSE research

But yeah, lets moan about 300 a year for some rich OAPs.

It will be less than going green energy bill wise ..... car wise - plus the added fact Covid & the Ukraine war held things back when we left the EU - who are not pulling up that well since we left - a surge to the right wing parties ..... a massive turn-out for that vote more than the latest GE & 40% of Labour voters voted for Brexit ....
I would be all for a trade deal with the EU as I voted yes for it twice before - not an EU parliament x 2 - & they pay income tax at both parliaments at 6 % .....
No different to our House of Lords which seriously needs dismantling, full of a large % of Cronyism from all parties, & our upper house should be voted in when we have a GE ... every 4–5 years ..... common-sense IMO

So when the budget attacks inheritance with increased taxes, who suffers. Certainly not the pensioners, but the bank of mum and dad may run dry and those nice cash uplifts helping young couples onto the housing ladder will reduce. So the starting attack on pensioners will quickly ripple down to those in their 50’s, 40’s, 30’s and below. I’m just glad Gordon Brown gave my wife and I a renewed impetus to give everything away over the years to my kids and grandkids before he or a fellow traveller like Reeves could steal it from them…thank you Gordon, Reeves can remove £300 but won’t get her hands on a penny of our assets….

Why should I be paying record taxes while freeloaders who inherit don't have to make a contribution?

It's high time the strivers and workers got something while the workshy who rely on inheritance contribute a bit (in my view).
