The poor OAPs can still get it.…and a lifeline for millions of poor OAP’s…..
But you know this.
Its just the bone you want to feast on and thats all it is, a bone.
Theres no meat on it.

Enjoy the austerity with the rest of the zombies who voted for this sinister 'kin Manchurian Candidate.
He’ll blame the bad weather for the tax rises next. As has been said by just one or two in here, they are the government now and make the choices…it’s all on Starmer and Reeves……

Yes, I've been observing those I know irl who are moaning the most. The poor OAPs can still get it.

Are you a Yank?Yes, I've been observing those I know irl who are moaning the most.
Let's just say they might have to cut back on a cruise or weekend or two away. Private pensions etc.
No one I know, including my Mom, who needs it will miss out.
There will be those cases that are a bit more borderline and that does need looking at.
In pure utilitarian economic terms, we need a workforce. We need educators. We need medical professionals. If you don't pay them the country stops. Where do you put the money? Overseas cruises? Retaining a workforce?
I'm sure that won't be popular, but as a country we've arguably spent too long lining the pockets one way or another of the Tory vote.
Pete's just jumping on this due to the flak taken for years of Tory support. Dave, well, he's just being Dave.
As you were.
Yes buddy.Are you a Yank?

I'm not going to disagree more nuance is needed.“ There will be those cases that are a bit more borderline and that does need looking at.”…
The above should already have been ‘looked at’… but she didn’t do an impact report did she, she has bounced this through without any thought to those who will feel it the most. This is incompetence in spades and you all know it…..
Yes buddy.
The embodiment of socialism. She could have reduced the NI rises & got 9 billion back - & raided the Bankers Bonuses ... no save 1 billion if that on OAPS - great socialism that .... Starmer no austerity from my government - he broke it in 2 weeks ... Labour knew what the deficit was, so why blame something you already know about ? The Budget responsibilities department told them - one term & they will be out, after one term -
I should have voted Lib Dem or Reform .... instead I voted for a Tory in Starmer wearing a red rosette ...
Just found out Starmer accepted 60 grand of an ex Tory donor to buy his suits in the election campaign FGS -
Is it austerity you have a problem with Pete or when a vulnerable group you have an affinity with has to feel the effects?“ Labour has been accused by its own MPs of 'running scared' by planning to push through cuts to pensioners' winter fuel payments without a Commons debate.
It emerged this weekend that controversial proposals to strip 10 million over-65s of winter help worth up to £300 could be approved without any debate.
But last night Labour rebels branded the move 'a disgrace' and claimed the Government was only doing that to avoid a rebellion over the issue.
One senior backbench MP told the MoS: 'They're running scared. They don't want to run the risk of giving us the opportunity to protest.'
So not only did Reeves not produce an impact report on something affecting 10,000,000 people before doing it, she then announced it knowing that the energy cap was going to be announced as going up the next day, and now she is not even giving her own MP’s the chance to discuss it.
Now, let’s be honest here folks, if this had been the conservatives, to 10 million pensioners, all of you, and I mean ALL of you, together with Starmer, Reeves, the rest of Labour and the BBC would have gone absolutely apoplectic…….
