Labour are responding to whatthey have inherited from Tory governments. You make it sound like a game of monopoly that's not gone well, with a flip of board start again.

Ill respond in kind with my own flavour of hyperbolic whizz; Oooh lets build ten million new eco homes and end housing crisis, yet destroy the little wealth many hard working Unionsed people have managed to amass themselves in housing equity. Its "silly billy" protest politics, or whatever mad cap doffing crap idea thats blurted out often here from the self anointed real socialists of People's Republic of Nonsense, that's blah blah.

You are struggling because you know @davek is right in regards to Starmer…you just hate to admit it…..

People who when the other Tories were in charge were screaming blue murder over the policies...now they're defending them because they have a red rosette on them.

I understand they're embarrassment at having been conned, but it's a but much to take, tbh.

Nobody was conned.

Anybody with any sense could see that things were very bad.

It was never getting fixed in months.

Of course they were. You just won’t admit you were wrong. You would have voted for a horse or a pig with a Labour rosette just to oust the Tories…..

No.

But Starmer conned everyone who voted for his party that the cuts were over.

Now he and Reeves have "discovered black holes"...besides the one's they talk out of.
Depends. They're clearly not chucking tons of cash into public services, but there's not the savage assaults the Tories launched in the Cameron/Osborne era.

The problem is when your infrastructure is creaking already and desperately needs investment, and you can't deliver, it's not a good look.

It's quite amusing when you step back, no one likes this Govt.

The Tory Tories are moaning they're gonna get bummed on tax and that Labour are attacking their core vote.

The trad labour vote never really liked them and are moaning they're not taxing rich Tory Tories more and are punishing 'poor' pensioners (grabted some will suffer, but some might be crying a bit much. Pete)

The rest of us are already rolling our eyes because they're basically saying our hands are tied and there looks to be a paucity of imagination in their approach. Use your sodding massive majority ffs. It's like they're terrified of the press.

Not really, I said pre-election that this will take at least a full term to turn around.

I knew what I was voting for.

I wasnt conned.

You could be right, it took the Tories 14 years to try and undo the shambles of the last Labour government….

Really not... Probably more left wing myself than most here, just I don't want end up like we did with Truss Conservative government just a Labour equivalent. From what I can garner it's not you or @davek that take brunt of these far right or far left of political spectrum brainfarts want to implement.

They are also terrified of their own MP’s….

A Labour Government in 1945 inherited a country on its arse and in historic levels of debt...and committed to building the NHS, new houses for everyone who needed them and the construction of the welfare state.

Where there's a will to do these things there's a way.

Robbing the poor to pay for wage settlements rather than pulling the tax levers is an abomination...and it's the reason no one in their right mind sees Starmer's lot as a traditional Labour Party.
