Most intelligent people could see that the country isn't fit for the future.
They can hardly look at the country and boast about our productivity, highly skilled work force, growth figures, state of public services after 14 yrs of the Tories.
Voters were prepared to swallow austerity and Brexit under the Tories, both of which were acts of self harm and have weakened our country significantly. Whether other viters will make any significant sacrifices to strengthen our country for the long term is going to be very difficult.

"No return to austerity".

Ha Ha Ha.

In the words of Johnny Rotten: "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?".

Good for you that you find 14 years of Tory rule and it's consequences funny like.
Blah blah blah....the Red Tories are in charge now. They're taking the choice to not tax the rich and punish the weak to make the books balance.

Responsibility comes with being the government...and this lot want to have their cake and eat it: in power but acting like they're in opposition.

They need to own the 'choices' they make.

Labour are responding to whatthey have inherited from Tory governments. You make it sound like a game of monopoly that's not gone well, with a flip of board start again.

Ill respond in kind with my own flavour of hyperbolic whizz; Oooh lets build ten million new eco homes and end housing crisis, yet destroy the little wealth many hard working Unionsed people have managed to amass themselves in housing equity. Its "silly billy" protest politics, or whatever mad cap doffing crap idea thats blurted out often here from the self anointed real socialists of People's Republic of Nonsense, that's blah blah.

“ Labour has been accused by its own MPs of 'running scared' by planning to push through cuts to pensioners' winter fuel payments without a Commons debate.

It emerged this weekend that controversial proposals to strip 10 million over-65s of winter help worth up to £300 could be approved without any debate.

But last night Labour rebels branded the move 'a disgrace' and claimed the Government was only doing that to avoid a rebellion over the issue.

One senior backbench MP told the MoS: 'They're running scared. They don't want to run the risk of giving us the opportunity to protest.'

So not only did Reeves not produce an impact report on something affecting 10,000,000 people before doing it, she then announced it knowing that the energy cap was going to be announced as going up the next day, and now she is not even giving her own MP’s the chance to discuss it.
Now, let’s be honest here folks, if this had been the conservatives, to 10 million pensioners, all of you, and I mean ALL of you, together with Starmer, Reeves, the rest of Labour and the BBC would have gone absolutely apoplectic…….
