If they are being clever they will have identified large voting blocs and where to engage with them (media). Distasteful as that might seem it will be part of the tactics to win power. I wish life wasn't like that but it is, so I guess I'll just have to sit here and cry about it.
votes count, by their very nature they stack up. White van man that reads the scum newspaper has a vote and it is the equal of a vote by the wokerati, a tofu munching green voter, a tory racists vote, or any other singular iteration of a voters choice. I'd like the scum eradicated but closing down a free* press is probably not the best look. Working with at arms length and treating with as much disdain as possible is probably the best that can be hoped for. Fortunately regardless of how many times he gets married I reckon murdoch's days are probably numbered. That thatcher enabler going will be another day of celebration.

Get rid of the tories by any and all means.

That rat is the issue. Those that were at the helm during the scum disgrace are long gone but the rag remains one of murdochs revenue and propaganda streams, like Sky. No one should be giving that creature a penny for anything, but if you are in politics I guess you have to play the game.

Part of why I can't hate Barkley, his behaviour off the pitch is what tempted that traitor mackenzie into publishing what he did, and it was his downfall. All the false apologies did him no good, and he was shunned because his brand was at last very damaged goods.

Always nice when a bully gets their comeuppance.

My opinion is that The Labour party has fully embraced the social ideas put forward by 'blue labour' but are totally ignoring most if not all of the left-wing economic policies put forward by 'blue labour' because the Labour party is no longer to the left or even centre left, it's a neo-liberal party at heart.

The top of it certainly, but the vast majority of members are still what they were under Corbyn, Miliband, Briwn and Blair. The leadership clique will understand this when things get difficult for them.

Imagine using the S*n as part of your campaign.

Then some people have trouble in believing that austerity is going nowhere under Starmer and his gang.

That's no excuse.

It will be interesting to see the post-election dynamics. How hard has Starmer tacked right on the set of names he has put in nomination for the Tory seats he's chasing? I don't know your politics well enough to know.

I'm not sure it will, I can see Starmer alienating himself even more from the left when in power. I personally see Raynor not lasting too long as Deputy PM. Starmer will want to be surrounded by yes men.

I agree that’s what he might try to do, but to withstand bad times he needs a base of support - either in the electorate or the membership. I don’t think he’s got either.

Quite a long way, most of the high profile parachutists are of the right with very few genuine leftists getting in anywhere.
Makes sense. It's what he needs politically and what maximizes the odds of flipping the seats.

I had not thought about it previously, but it's possible that Starmer running up the score big could de facto lead to a coalition government between two parties. How he navigates those waters will be interesting. If those right-leaning Labour MPs get sticky in those seats, they'll have the threat of a no-confidence vote partnering with the right. If they don't, his left wing will be the one holding that cudgel over his head.

I suppose the one thing that is certain is that he will not wear the crown easily, and certainly not as easily as Labour's share of seats will suggest he should. If I were giving his new MPs advice, I would tell them constituency service will be life-and-death for both them and their agenda, so they had better get it right. How well they execute that advice as a collective is likely to have major policy implications.
