I think someone started a thread on voting intentions. Maybe start by asking him and from thereSorry mate, I'm not very perceptive. You'll need to spell it out.
It seems to ignore the basis of our political system though. I imagine if you're able to vote for a party that matches your personal beliefs entirely you're extremely lucky. Most of the time you simply have to plump for those nearest to them, with this especially so when the alternative is [Poor language removed] miles away. You sense that older people know this, hence why they vote a lot and the Tories get elected a lot. Younger people need to give their heads a wobble.Anyway, back the broader point, I can't say I particularly agree with the lady in question. However, there does seem to be a growing dissatisfaction with Labour in the base. Agree with them or not, in electoral terms it could be a problem.
I'm sure we've discussed this sort of thing before, in frustration at the EU vote quite probably, but the gap between voting behaviour and reason can be a chasm lol.
Well, that's what some folk seem to want. Nay, demand. It seems to ignore the basis of our political system though. I don’t know about this. There are tonnes of other factors at play. Most anti Labour and pro Tory sentiment from older generations seems to stem from the 70s and 80s and is pretty much ingrained rather than being based on any rational analysis. You sense that older people know this, hence why they vote a lot and the Tories get elected a lot. Younger people need to give their heads a wobble.
Massive advert in the S*n, paid for by the party.
It's disappointing but its the game isnt it.
However, Starmer was very happy to lean into the anti-sun feeling in the city when he was running for leader so people are rightly angry at this and Starmer writing for the paper.
Exactly, the first thing Blair should have done was turn on “ The Sun “ and make it illegal for any newspaper to be owned by anyone not domiciled in the UK. Of course he didn’t, he chose to ride on the back of the Tiger. The most annoying thing is doing this again, in the full and certain knowledge that they’ll turn on them sooner rather than later.
The first act of any Labour government should be to make that rag face the consequences of its actions.
Starmer is genuinely more politically aligned with Cameron than the likes of Blair, easily the most right leaning Labour party leader we've ever had.
If they are being clever they will have identified large voting blocs and where to engage with them (media). Distasteful as that might seem it will be part of the tactics to win power. I wish life wasn't like that but it is, so I guess I'll just have to sit here and cry about it.Starmer is employed by them. The Red Tories are in cahoots with the paper that trashed the people of Liverpool.
For people like @Goat and @Spadge Vernacular it doesn't matter though.
