Yep, Wellingborough gave Labour 13.8k votes, in 2019 they got 13.7k votes, Tories got 7.4K votes and in 2019 they got 32.3K votes. It looks like Labour did as well as possible and the Tories, who like myself are hacked off over Sunak, just stayed at home. Nothing for Starmer to be pleased about really tbh….
On the other hand, it's a fairly standard turnout for by-elections. When Paul Stinchcombe took the seat for Labour from Peter Fry in 1997, he got almost 25,000 votes, on a 75% turnout, so I don't think you can really infer that all the voters that stayed at home will vote Tory in a GE. While I agree Starmer ought not to get complacent, I don't think your lot can draw any solace from it, either.

No mate, with the exception of a few, I want to see the back of every single one of them. They collectively paid more attention playing internal political games and ceased running the country after Boris was stabbed. Even now I doubt that they recognise the harm they have done to the country and the party by this self serving attitude. Get rid of them and start again…..
Johnson and his actions as PM is the Tory problem his legacy continues like cancerous rot. The only difference between Jonshon and Sunak is how they go about being corrupt one joked about it the other pretends is not happening.

Most non partisans which is the majority of the electorate want standards and integrity in public office. Wellingborough and the candidate choice was classic Tory corruption. Its so bad Tories may not even get 25% of the vote historically catastrophic in general election.

Compare that Starmer with Green policy and how they managed Rochdale, prepared to be honest regardless of cost and loose by-election by pulling support because of candidate running is mouth off on conspiracy theory.

Now 7 by-elections Starmer has won these last two within election year and increasing Labour margins everytime, even in his worst 2 weeks Tories are for in for one hell of a hiding at this rate.

It's won the election (caveats apply), it's just a matter of how much of a margin Labour now win it. Of course much of the margin will depend on manifesto.

so a mess since truss and sunak then?

There is no doubt that the Tory infighting has had a profound impact on their potential vote in the upcoming general election, furthermore their attitude towards the use of power as seen by the number of MPs either under investigation or those who have already lost their seats has compounded their problems. Another problem for them is the inability of the majority of the party to control the extreme right wing which have now gained traction, but hopefully the electorate will turn their back on them because of their right wing policies and the nonsense of their inherent belief in trickle down economics. If you give a rich businessman £20 million he will keep £10 million, invest in a way of avoiding tax and he will spend what is left, give poor people £20 million and they will spend it. It is time to run the country based on the needs of the many and not on the interests of the few. Unfortunately the Labour Party is no longer the party of the people but has become the slightly more acceptable face of conservatism.

I don’t believe so. I don’t hear many people saying they’re not voting Tory now cos they’ve gone too right wing tbh. Could be wrong like. I’m sure some have but think it would be a small percentage.

Nope, I'm hearing folk saying generic nonspecific stuff like "I'm sick of them" and "the country is a mess" or "they're useless".

It's labour by default if anything.

So why do you think there is such a swing against them in by-elections.
Several reasons.
A lot see Sunak as stabbing boris in the back.
Covid parties.
Revelations of covid contracts for mates and contacts.
Truss crashing the economy dispelling the myth that the tories are safe hands with the economy.
Immigration
Housing.

Polls I’ve seen largely support the Rwanda bill for example.

The things you suggest and what Jimmy listed and the like are all part of the same rotten tapestry. They are toxic.
