Think they’ll be in for a bit of a shock come election day.
We should all be shocked when Starmer takes over at #10 really - climbing out of the grave in one election cycle has rarely been done in UK political history afaik.
If we win the Champion's league in five years time that would be a bit of a shock to most people, but you'd still get folk complaining we weren't playing the right sort of football.

£28 biillion green promise apparently going down the plughole. Looks like Labour could have the shortest manifesto in electoral history: We'd like to be the government and, honest, we're not quite as bad as those Tories.

Inspiring stuff.

Sure most opposition parties promise much while they are sat in the shadow side of the House. When they realise that they may be about to form a Government I'd hope they would discard anything impractical and form a solid Manifesto. If they then row back or U-turn on that, when they get in, then is the time to complain. Pragmatic approach and what money is going to need spent elswhere like bringing down Cancer waiting lists.

….the handling of this £28bn green policy has been a huge gaff. Reporters have known for weeks that the policy is getting pulled, yet shadow ministers have been doing the rounds preaching contrary. It should’ve been nipped in the bud and communicated long ago, they’ll be hoping this will be forgotten at GE time.

Chris Packham makes an interesting point when he says why should we be focusing on making people live longer when they are living in a shithole environment and divert funds away from tackling the environmental causes that lead to many illnesses in the first place.

Timing was a bit suss as well. I think they were hoping the Sunak gaff would keep it out the press.

All labour will do if they continue on this track is usher in an even worse tory government in five years time.

The warning signs are all there with what's happening in the states.

This is why they need holding to account. Defending them blindly like we see a lot on here will achieve nothing but a far right tory government in the long term.

The same people helped usher in this current tory government.
