Current Affairs The Labour Party

Plenty of people on the left and even towards the centre have valid criticisms of starmer and the Labour Party in general but they seem to fall on deaf ears in this thread.

Don’t recall it being like this during the Corbyn years.

You’re all just as bad as the right wing cranks when it comes to blaming “the left” for everything.

This is a post by someone who voted for starmer as leader as they wanted Labour to move more towards the centre to become more electable.

There’s loads of us about. Maybe listen to us instead of shutting us down all the time?

Do you want genuine change or do you just want your team to win?
I just want rid of the Tories mate.

Thats all I want.

Lets get them gone, then we can think about real change.

So you want me to demand a better Labour Party, by *checks notes, letting The Tories in for the next 4 years?

I think that kinda defeats my objective.

Just look at the city of liverpool for an example of how Labour take advantage of not being the tories and not benefiting the people.

It needs to stop. I’ve took away my membership and will vote against them in the next election.

Maybe that isn’t the best way to demand change but I feel it’s the only way my voice can be heard in this climate.

What was it the Tories said, managed decline, wasnt it?

Which is why my tick will always go in the red box.

I cant speak on the matters you speak of, mainly cos you havent really said what they are, but you clearly have an issue with something they did or didnt do, which is fair enough. I cant tell you to vote, I just know that I can not let these evil vultures win again.

Blindly voting for Labour because they are not the tories is part of the problem.

I respect your choice. It’s one many of people make around the country.

I’ve kind of got tired of it because it won’t bring the change this country needs.

You’re more realistic about where this country is. I’m probably more naive.

A lot of my reasons for biting against Labour are more at a local level, but I did vote for starmer to become leader and he has gone against a lot of his pledges.

Im a simple man, with a vote.

All I can do is vote for what I think is best for me, my family, friends and the people of this country.

For me that means Labour, currently.

But who knows how I will feel in 5 years when the next Election cycle comes around.

So yes, im blindly voting Labour and have done all my life, but if Starmer is worse, then, well I dunno, I cant predict my feelings in 5 years.
