I'm not sure which group is more worthy of contempt:

The "I'm alright Jack" Tories who want to see continued right-wing governments so they can keep lining their own pockets

or

The "I'm alright Jack" Leftists who want to see continued right-wing governments because they're well off enough to play protest politics and are deathly scared of having to govern and take responsibility for once

This thread is a disgrace, there isn't an office at CCHQ putting as much bile and poison into attacks on Starmer as davek keeps conjuring up... no wonder given the "Left" are doing their jobs for them. I'd hang my head in shame if I was doing the job of Tory spin doctors, but instead this Lemon just keeps up the Tory attack lines. Incredible stuff, I've not witnessed the "you get more right-wing as you get older" adage being proved in real time.
Pure caricature. Start reading what 'Labour's' policies are and put you're thinking cap on.

And anyone defending Starmer and his party while they support an apartheid state massacre 10,000 people so far need to seriously look at themselves in the mirror.

The only disgrace around here is THAT.

I suppose what appears evident, however, is that all of those taking the shots at Starmer are those who ostensibly claim to be on his side. You're not getting Pete in here saying Starmer's a turd. It's the left eating itself while the right chuckle from the sidelines.
Ha ha ha...like you're not the right.

But if everyone just keeps quiet, we’ll end up with a government that believes they have a mandate to do whatever.

They’ll be weak and unpopular and replaced by an even more right wing Tory party in 5 years.

I don't consider the canyon-cakehole resident windbag any more left wing than I would adolf eichmann. It's protestations (ah ha!) over it's green credentials are highly suspect. It appeared the comment "people use the Covid handling to have a go" is somewhat to subtle. The quadruple standard of holding only labours feet to the fire and only starmers is a gross act of hypocrisy. But when has that ever not been the case? Dirt filth tory apologists require cleansing.

I mean like, am I missing something here? Saying that people are using the Israel conflict to have cheap shots at Starmer is like saying people use the Covid handling to have a go at Johnson cos they already don’t like him.

You can raise valid criticisms of someone you don’t like you know.

Frankly this is just very odd response.
How are they even comparable by any measure.
Would agree if they were both domestic matters, our very own response to COVID was very much about Government response and Boris Johnson as he was our Prime Minister. Starmer has little to no political power domestically as opposition and even less to no influence over Israel or Gaza, even as PM. I mean we have had the home sec call people protesting here in UK against the war in Gaza as a hate crime literally have free pass to evoke all the hate she can! Embarrassing hill to stick the socialist flag on.

I wouldn't advocate keeping quiet, but this seems like a mountain out of a molehill. Starmer did allow himself to be tripped up in that interview, but it's an issue that he has no real power about and that the electorate largely doesn't seem to care about, so I'm not sure why those who probably oppose Starmer by default are using this issue to try and bring him down, when all it will mean is yet more years of Tory government.

Of the 28 elections held over the last century, the Tories have won 18 of them. They might be utter shits in their current guise, but they know how to win elections. In fighting while not in power generally isn't it.

Never been entirely convinced posters actually say who they are, or mean what they say. Few exceptions your annoyingly pretty consistent at being evidence based centrist and to that i would say just some times you need a leap of faith to get the best outcome. And thats about as nice as i get because you wear lycra... ;)

He must be in the gym then, cos it's body armour on the rooves of Gotham. Peter Parker is in lycra when he's spidering about...

Whoever gets in next is going to have a job on their hands. I'd settle for returning a degree of decency and competence to the post together with focusing on things that really matter rather than these stupid culture wars. We've been unfavourably compared to Italy in recent years, so a bit of dull stability would be no bad thing to show the world we're not complete knobheads.

More chance of plaiting diarrhea.

That was in other news "culture wars" that the electorate dont actually care for it and feel its hyper inflated by big knobheads in our political system.

It's almost certainly designed to distract from their record in the more important aspects of government, of which there has been precious little since 2016. Obviously the pandemic and Ukraine would have distracted any government, but the Tories have done precious little of anything of note despite being in office for so long. I can't think of anything they've done you could point at and say it made the country better.

Going to have look and try and be honest... Its a rare day at home alone for the first time in years the weather is awful plans have changed and stuck in doors.

Don’t think you understand the point. The comparison has nothing to do with policy it’s about tribalism.

You’re saying people are using a probable future PM’s weak stance on genocide (cos it makes no difference anyways) as an excuse to attack him cos they didn’t like him from the start.

Truth is people are trying to work out who he is and what he stands for, which appears to be absolutely nothing. Im hardly a socialist btw but I like many others are desperately trying to see something to like about starmer and this labour and are being consistently disappointed.

Just not being tories is nowhere near good enough.

@davek has demonstrated continuosly that he sides with fascist colonial types (see Ukraine thread). Its also evident that he'll say anything to give the tory's their best shot at staying in power, read back in this thread. No matter how much he protests and tries to deflect, all you need to do is read around his denial and look at the trends in his posting. He is a cuckoo.
