The planning system needs a huge overhaul, both in terms of housing and infrastructure. It's bonkers that it takes 12 years to put up electricity pylons, and that's hugely hamstringing our attempts at achieving Net Zero. You get hung up on empty slogans Dave because you're the kind of man who just wants politicians to look good on a march carrying such empty slogans.

The Economist nailed it. These kind of issues are largely irrelevant to the electorate but will tear Labour apart in government, just as Europe was largely irrelevant to the electorate but tore the Tories (and ultimately us) apart.

Starmer calling for a ceasefire will have zero affect on those posting "ceasefire" or words similar, most of them if not all have already said they won't vote Labour, their position is utterly prosperous .

This thread is a disgrace, there isn't an office at CCHQ putting as much bile and poison into attacks on Starmer as davek keeps conjuring up... no wonder given the "Left" are doing their jobs for them. I'd hang my head in shame if I was doing the job of Tory spin doctors, but instead this Lemon just keeps up the Tory attack lines. Indeed have been taken by how a very tragic and awful issue has been used as a tool in our very own domestic politics, the deliberate act that serves no purpose to those living in conflict, won't even bring about meaningful change in our government position let alone attacks on the main opposition leader.

Heavens knows what a person who actually experiencing this ongoing war would think or actually feel in how their suffering is being used, to further a foreign domestic political agenda that bare no significance to their plight, its just so a few hear can have few cheap shots at the opposition leader. Not the most palatable consequence of Western democracy.

I mean like, am I missing something here? Saying that people are using the Israel conflict to have cheap shots at Starmer is like saying people use the Covid handling to have a go at Johnson cos they already don’t like him.

I suppose what appears evident, however, is that all of those taking the shots at Starmer are those who ostensibly claim to be on his side. You're not getting Pete in here saying Starmer's a turd. It's the left eating itself while the right chuckle from the sidelines.
