I’ve never looked at it from this point of view, but I’ve seen it on this thread and it raises a good question.

These people of feeling war torn countries and rightly so, I would do whatever it takes to protect my family. But why once they get into Europe are they still risking their lives and their children’s lives crossing the channel to get here, when they have already escaped?

That's my point - you don't want to give the electorate the thought process of "Boris is bad but bloody hell I'm not voting for a Labour party that has Lammy and Thornberry in power."

They are electoral poison.
