Owen Paterson was facing a 30-day suspension from the Commons for breaching lobbying rules. But Conservative colleagues have backed an amendment which will instead see a new committee set up to examine the standards system and take another look at the case against him.

Anyone sitting on that side of the political divide should be embarrassed by that performance, However, more importantly they should be as equally worried as everyone else that this is the party running the country.

Tories will 'sleaze' until even their 'support' can't even stomach it then the 'Tories with red ties' aka Labour, will get a go at it for a wee while. None of them see the actual people as their priority. Rinse and repeat.

With the right wing's advantage in social media where dog whistles/misinformation along with a totally dominant right wing press, I fear that even the watered down Labour party won't even get their occasional turn. Thoroughly depressing!

I feel Proportional Representation is the only hope of a spiral down to a permanent right wing political establishment and any sort of socialist representation.

If you criticise Israel in any way you are an enemy of the Labour right and you will become a target.

It's going to be really hard to support this tory light party. If there was a real alternative I highly doubt I would vote Labour again until Kier, Nandy etc are gone.
