The Inevitable Return Of Wayne Rooney

It won't mean Rooney'll spontaneously combust if he walks into St Luke's and apologises for his atrocious behaviour to Everton and its fans. Including the ones buried there who he disappointed so much in 2004 and subsequently.

behave and stop posting absolute nonsense that's got nothing to do with anything other than one mans life choices.

If footballers were to atone for sins based on the bible we wouldn't see another game of football till were 407 years of age. And that's just the U18's.

I'd like him to visit St Luke's in the corner of Goodison and ask for forgiveness and show some real contrition from him.

i.e. show he's not bigger than Everton and that he genuinely is sorry for his past misdeeds.

Until then. No. No forgiveness here.

What do you expect him to do, carry a crucifix from Old Trafford to Goodison and string himself up on it ? Say 20 Hail Mary's through the Goodison PA system ?

I'd help him drag it around the gravel path as part of 'Operation Goodison Excercise' if it put him back in a blue shirt.

I'm Brian, and so's my wife

I seem to recall some dissenting voices about the return of Pienaar, stuff along the lines of (paraphrasing here - everyone ok or do we need a wiki link?) 'he sold us out', 'he's a morally abject drink driver' etc etc. Seems to have been forgiven right enough as he's put in the performance on the pitch. So I think a pious attitude to Rooney is a wee bit daft.

one of the worlds best players for free when hes 30!!!!

and people dont wont it to happen!

christ on a bike!

Dude, are your playing 'referee'? You know full well you need an anonymous tip off to a Mod.

Go on, play supergrass!

Man utd and especially fergie do not like loosing there best players. It makes the club look bad and they have a major chip on there shoulder's about it.

If utd were to lose rooney i think they would prefer him to go to everton than anywhere else!

Could easily play it down as the boy wanted to play for the team he supports and wev had his best years... Yadi yar!

And seriously dont underestamate as a guy your first born little boy asking you to play for his team!

Its on one day!!

if he does come back i wonder if he'll apologise for the badge kissing act? Can see why he left, just one thing tho, if i ever got to play for everton, nothing, no amount of money would make me want to leave, i would play for the blues for as long as they wanted me

just a couple of things.....without the Rooney transfer cash we would have gone into administration......and to whoever it was (think it was nigelcoyb ) said Rooney mostly strolls around the pitch, what a pathetic comment....he has, almost single handed, kept united where they are for the last two seasons. Also the reason for his transfer request was due to, in his opinion, uniteds lack of ambition regarding transfers.

Just say you don't agree, why the hostility?

I disagree with your 2 year appraisal BTW.
