The Inevitable Return Of Wayne Rooney

It's completely true. Players over 30 at United are on year by year rolling contracts.

Scholes, Owen, and Giggs were and are all under the same conditions, and Ferdinand will be when his current contract ends next season. The same happened with Van Der Sar.

Some players (such as Ferdinand) have gone past the 30 mark on a multi year contract but once your contract runs out at United and you are over 30 then tradition is to over you a year by year deal. It's a great way of encouraging older players not to try and get one big fat pay day and then rest on their laurels.

A lot of the older players are as you say.

That said, They are usually tied up until they have little or no transfer value before they are on a rolling contract. This means at lest 33/34. There is always a clause for united to keep them if the play X games so they are always tied in regardless. You can't leave unless they don't want you.

Some of US hold playing for Everton as a higher honour than that.

Whilst some professions seem to be able to get away with that kind of thing why should we allow Everton Football Club or invite back a player who turned his back on us, talked us down in the media multiple times, visited call girls and behaved like he was bigger than us?

Some of you lot may be in love with the idea of "Wayne Rooney" at Everton.

I for one am not. That ship sailed away in 2004.

The men who took us away from Anfield would be turning in their graves.

Matt, Your argument was he's unprofessional because he's visited call girls. It weren't he's morally reprehensible and his conduct is unbecoming of an Everton player.

You desperately tried to rescue an argument you were losing hands down.

I take it your not a big fan of Dunc, Pienaar and the hundred others who have been up to all kinds while wearing the Blue of Everton?

Of course they can, that's the whole point of a bosman !

ta-ra, i`m off to ahem! pray for some fallen women............................................................with rooney (still on topic heh heh)

Matt, why you so hung up about the call girls? Jealousy perhaps?
If you crucified every youngster who messed up a bit, then none of us would see past 21. Find a current, valid, argument to go on with.

He wasn't a youngster. He was 23 years old.

His ship for me sailed away in 2004.

Not arsed about him in the slightest.

Ships that pass in the night, and speak each other in passing, only a signal shown, and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of life, we pass and speak one another, only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence.

Contracts that are renewed if the player plays X games are common for them. So If Rooney is in the last year of his deal and Ferguson want's him to stay he will play him in X games which automatically renews the deal for another X amount of years. He will have to be very pre-meditated to leave them before he's 30 IMO. They are so on the ball it's crazy.

If he wants to leave he'll leave mate. Player power can undo any contract nowadays.

does this Damon code of moral conduct also stretch to the fans? It is oft quoted how it's the fans who ARE the club. There would be quite a few empty seats about me thinks.

Duncan Ferguson likes punching people, and Darron Gibson did drugs a few times. They're both a disgrace. How dare they besmirch the name of Our Royal Lady's Everton football club ?

Wait, when did Gibson do drugs??????????

OFF TOPIC.

And Rooney DEFO has. Many a time.

.

Its very much on topic, your calling Rooney for visiting brass, just trying to judge if your moral compass is broken.

The bloke who scouted Rooney told me and my arl fella before the Spurs game at home this season that Rooney will definetely play for Everton again one day.
