The grounds you feared going to.

Old Trafford was always horrible. Early 80’s, stuff getting thrown constantly from the K stand behind the away section. Then on leaving the ground in police escort being met by a load of glass bottles being thrown at us. One that did surprise me was Barnsley in the late 80’s. Wasn’t really expecting much trouble but they were bloody mad.
Old Trafford especially at night always a bit nasty in the 80s although when we played Altrincham in the replay at old Trafford was especially bad getting over the bridge

The only hairy moments I heard about was the aforementioned cardiff and a Good Friday Newcastle game all in the 70s.
The Newcastle programme was a badge of honour in town that night..
The Street end the week after an away game had many "badges of honour"

Usually scarves they "won" from fans at the previous games.
Leeds scarves in particular I distinctly remember were the top "badge of honour"

I can remember going to Spurs , August Bank Holiday 85.
There was trouble outside immediately after the game (Lineker's first goal we won 1-0)
Then we were escorted by the police to Northumberland Park which went past some moody estate.
The locals came out to have a go and police with dogs actually backed off from them as various Everton lads moved forward to confront them.
I went to Millwall in 89 when hundreds of Everton piled off at Surrey Quays and walked unopposed to the ground.
Millwall stayed in the pubs.
About three years later I was living in South London and got talking to a few Millwall lads who got the ale in and were quite impressed by Everton that day.

Remember a few Scotland flags after they beat Wales at the pit.

Had one and a leeds scarf as well.
Funny enough a Hearts of midlothian jacket was my first trophy(i actually found it, after someone else liberated it)
Got a Dundee unt scarf as well but gave it back to the lad
as it was a bit rubbish as the lad was in tears without even getting hit.
Thought we were going to rob him and beat him up
Did neither.
Ended up walking him around to his coach safely.
Just didn't have it in me to take it and I didn't want an orange scarf anyway.
My mates older brother in law had two gola sports backs full of other teams scarfs.
Me and my mate used to look forward to each new addition., and the stories behind it.

Three.
Two expected ( Millwall and Leeds) Animals the pair of them!

But I will never forget as a teenager having to “ blend in” with Hammers fans after the last Monday night game of season in 86 at Goodison to get back to Lime St. for the only night train back to Euston ( southern Toffee).

Herded onto busses with loads of programmes naively bought that I then realised i needed to hide in my jacket a couple of bricks smashed the windows in real bad .. those Everton fans could be a bit naughty !!!!🤣 true story is dis as well ha ha!

Different angle on OP.Travelling with opposition fans. Was living in Shepherds Bush mid 80’s near QPR ground. They were playing us away and train tickets were cheap.Me and me mate who was a cockney Toffee travelled with them with him doing the talking.Got searched at Edge Hill and put on buses.Got off at Goodison and left escort to go to Street End.After match back on bus to train to Big smoke.A blue and white scarf worked well too . lol.
