The grounds you feared going to.

Lived in Middlesbrough in the 70's and went to a night game at Goodison (think it ended 2-2). Coach windows got smashed in after the game and we sat waiting for a replacement coach for an hour or so (it was a freezing winter's night) before deciding to drive back despite the icy blast from the missing window. Got back to boro centre late, in the wee small hours, and got jumped by some local yobs!
A later Goodison game in the 70's in the Boro end (strangely enough also 2-2) some scousers stood behind us pretending to be looking for a mate, but obviously having clocked us to give us a good kicking later. We left before half time.
'Happy' times!

Was there that Bristol game they came over I think was a flyover it was like the film Zulu dawn mad
From memory there was murder by the coaches and in a park next to the ground, went on for about half an hour, crazy. I think their fans were upset that we scored a last minute winner after they had dominated the game. We played there again a few years later and won 2-0 with a couple of Bakayoko goals and it went off again then but not as bad as the first game in 95.

Was there with my lad for the Bakayoko game. Madness in the ground before the end as well as the car park after.

Only ever seen trouble once and that was a pre-season game at Tranmere, didn’t even realise what was happening at first, that was quite scary.

Upton Park and the 'Chicken Run'*. Remember it being a long walk back to the station.
Added: just checked it up and it must have been the new East Stand terracing but I think locals still called it by that name.

Yer, seem to remember a pitch invasion from our end when the goals went in and some of their boys coming on aswell leading to a bit of boxing on the pitch.
Yep, that was it. My lad was 11. He eas enthralled by the whole thing while I was trying to get out of there as quickly as possible.

I got duffed up at Sid James' park in Newcastle - somewhere around 1972

Me and my mate went over to watch tranmere v Chester 1977 they thought we were Chester fans we got
Chased all round the streets luckily they did not catch us never been to Prenton park since

I remember the Derby at Maine Road Manchester. It was the cup final replay.
We left the escort, big mistake, in the middle of Moss side. Surrounded by Manchesters finest, scary stuff and only a waste skip saved us, until a police van rolled up and dragged us in.

Strange, but when in London, I always found the locals were more interested in scrapping with each other, than us.

The tube back to Euston was scary, you never knew who's mob were getting on at the next stop.
