The grounds you feared going to.

You 100% had to keep your mouth shut both inside and outside the ground and from what I can gather, not much has changed either.

Vile fans, not and ounce of humour in them, just pure hatred of anyone that isn`t them.

It`s no wander why the likes of the EDL and Reform do so well around there.

Proper Yorkshire caveman and the epitome of bad woolies.

Definitely Leeds United, went there once in the seventies, never again, horrible ground fenced in everywhere for good reason, their fans were vile.
As good as any side we had never won there in my lifetime of going there - Dirty Leeds - Dave Hickson & Wayne Rooney fave just two wins in the league .....
We filled their away shed end standing on the terraces - never saw any trouble ...

They must not like Gingers as I went there twice - no bother ... Leicester away at the old Filbert street was a bare pit .....

Plymouth away in the FA Cup in 1989 was the worst trouble I have seen

That one was a bit of close call. Got there early. In a pub on the main high street, full of Plymouth fans. Was in the back room playing pool when it kicked off in the bar.... apparently staged by a few blues as a distraction while they lifted both the till (which was on the bar) and the cigarette machine, which was near the door. After the main brawl in the bar... the locals remembered us in the back room. Thankfully, they showed mercy as we quietly walked out through the bar area....... just as the manager realised the till had gone haha.

I remember the police kept us in the ground for ages after the game. One of my more surreal experiences watching Everton was them opening the perimeter fencing gates and making all of us on that terrace (around 5 to 6000 I would guess) walk across the full length of the pitch (I remember how sticky and muddy it was), up the home terraces down at the opposite end and out of the exit gates to be escorted back to our transport.

They obviously had long memories
I originally posted this some time back in the 'pies and pasties' thread.

Best I've had at a match would have to be the Cornish pasties at Plymouth in 1975.
Three or four small catering wagons were on the concourse outside the ground and were charging a kings ransom.
Each wagon was tipped over in turn by hoards of hungry blues.
Whilst some were 'allegedly' helping themselves to the days takings, I managed to grab myself two pasties. Winner:dance:

Chelsea, Upton park could get bit hairy.. Millwall old den "the tunnel" could also get a bit wild. Worst one ever though wasn't with Everton went with some good mates to Cardiff.. f me train wasn't stopping at Bristol parkway it was that day 😂😂😂 my days got home all in a mess was right in trouble. Would have been 17 18 at the time. didn't even get to the game 😂😂😂
