When your economic strategy is rob the rich to feed the poor, what happens when there's no more rich to rob because they've left the country?

It's student union politics again. Ridiculously simplistic.

They are not robbing the rich though are they?

What they are saying is that as a society we can no longer afford to maintain the increased wealth of the wealthiest members of society at 10+% p/a at the expense of everyone else as its breaking societal cohesion.

Or more simplistically they are looking to bring tax rates into line with our US, European neighbours (or indeed our previous levels in years gone by).

The idea that adopting a more orthodox fiscal policy is akin to theft I'm not sure can be squared. That doesn't mean we have to agree with it, but worth framing it in a more accurate context I would suggest.

He loves talking to people who will vote for him anyway. However it’s the swing voters who decide a government....

He must have won some swing voters Pete, as last time he added millions of people who voted to Labour last time.

When people say preaching to the converted to me, I always think it's worked pretty well for the Catholic Church! The converted tend to go and talk to other people.

See the nationalist parties in NI are collaborating to not split their vote against the DUP to max out the Remain NI MPs in the HOC. Hope I got that the right was round.

I'm taking the 'p' out of how the two concepts are currently being abused mate.
No. answer the man. You didn’t use the comedy font so you clearly find it ‘extreme’. Account for your disgusting views that you constantly spout across this forum have contributed, solely, to the situation we are in.

You vote for some right scumbags. Not like the voice of reason who votes for, the same people as you!

The public schools one and the landlords one (iirc) were conference resolutions, not things presented by Corbyn or the Shadow Cabinet. Even the shares one could hardly be described as extreme given that it would basically turn Sainsbury’s into John Lewis, except with less worker representation and far more assets.

What you seem to be doing is extending the word “extreme” way beyond its actual meaning in order to justify its use. For example I hate the Lib Dems as much as anyone else who has seen one of their bar charts but their promise to revoke A50 is not in any way extreme; it’s a rational policy, is specifically allowed for in EU law and far more honest than them calling for a second referendum that they’d ignore the result of was.

Think your being a bit sensitive on the use of extreme.

For example take the union, if the Tories win a majority and push through a tough or no deal Brexit, Scotland will revolt, eventually getting their 2nd indy referendum and leave. If Labour get enough seats to block a Tory majority, they will have to have a pact with the SNP for a coalition which will presumably have a condition of having a 2nd indy vote and they'll leave (although a bit less chance if they are in power). So two opposites same crap result.

You take it far too personally if anything is said about Labour/Corbyn, I haven't mentioned anything about him basically being like Lenin which is kind of what you are implying. Just if I say the Tories are catering to the far right, they are not Nazi's. It's just broader than the more centrist governments we have had for the last 22 years. For my taste Corbyn is a bit on the left side of where I would like to see a government in power. But it is certainly better than the right that is being occupied by the toffs. I've not been told by the media to think that, these are my own personal political preferences, built up from experience and my view of how the world works. I will happily laugh at a right wing media spouting nonsense just as I would with a left wing person with views that I don't agree with. Likewise I might agree with either side if I think it is sensible.

Not everyone here is brainwashed. I have taken a fairly keen interest in politics since the mid to late 80's, back then obviously no internet and I wasn't reading biased newspapers all day long. My centre-left views are pretty much bashed by everyone on here and in the media (even the pro-left ones) so got no idea why you think I and others are merely sheep herded into thinking Corbyn is a communist devil. It's a funny caricature for sure, but I don't think many believe that. His politics just might not be aligned with another persons, simple as that.

Ha, good points, I ought to apologise really, but i'm not plebeian. These people should have made better decisions, especially the sprogs.

I've said repeatedly that some more taxation is fine.

There's a massive ideological difference between that and saying billionaires outright shouldn't exist.

Channel 4 news right now, 1 in 50 households in the 5th richest country in the world are using foodbanks to survive. I find that a lot more shocking than someone saying billionaires shouldn't exist. That wealth is just a complete waste. Dead money in someone's back pocket to boost someone's ego.

Don’t sign pledges on NHS or climate, Tory HQ tells candidates
Exclusive: leaked briefing note advises candidates not to sign up to non-approved pledges – but supporting shooting is allowed

Not really - I get entirely what you are saying, I just fail to see how you get from there to describe what Labour are doing is extreme.
