Anybody who claims to have a love for this club needs to first understand both the history of the club, the city and the people. If you don't know what families lived though with the managed decline of our City then don't start acting the hero with witty remarks. Pipe down and realise people have lived with genuine consequences, been in genuine poverty. It's not all some game and we really aren't the people or the city to be projecting right wing views on.

It's extremely disrespectful to even attempt to do so as is the gloating we've seen from a few small time knobheads.

just wanted to pop in to emphasise what a horrendous little shithead that dandydan is, what kind of sad case watches his party win an election and then goes on a forum where said party are despised and then spends two hours trying to wind everyone up ? It’s like supporting Liverpool, wining the league and then going and celebrating on an Everton forum.

Next level shittheadery from a confirmed incel
Horse running in the 2.30 at Cheltenham called Dandy Dan.

Gloating is unpleasant and sholdn't happen on here; we're all Evertonians after all.

Having said that, people on here who hold minority views such as being pro-Brexit or not supporting Labour are often demonised so you can understand a degree of triumphalism.

Let's try to respect each other, folks.

Also, the increase in minimum wage for my wife would've more than offset the loss of it, in my case.
Along with the 4 day week right.

Labours manifesto would never have worked. The tens of billions he would of needed would never have come through. Billion pound companies would just leave and set up elsewhere.

The people especially the working class saw through that.
Focus groups said time and time again, they can't trust Corbyn and he is too left wing. Labour didn't listen. If Corbyn stood down a few weeks ago they could of won, he never and ruined labours chances there and then.

Boris knew all along Corbyn would ruin that party regardless of his manifesto and he did.

a bit much this...you're effectively calling for a ban on political views which don't match your own.

I agree gloating is ugly, and a respect and knowledge of Everton's localisation is required. But the tory-bashing isn't exactly pretty. Everton FC, for better or worse, are a worldwide entity: with fans, followers, supporters, business-interests, owners, managers, coaches and players from all around the globe. All of these individuals will hold wildly-differing political beliefs.

grandoldteam is the number one online community for all those people precisely because it is a very tolerant open space for all blues, not just the locals.

It's not even just Tory bashing. It's "anyone who isn't a hard left Corbyn fan is a Tory".

You're either ideologically pure or a Tory. It's cult-ish.

Only one member was 'gloating' and that was a rubbish wind up I thought ?

I had him blocked for being a racist anyway so most of the thread made no sense and just involved people calling someone a rat over and over again for no apparent reason.

I understand Momentum /Corbyn fans being disappointed and lashing out but I just hope - as a natural Labour voter - those people will think long and hard about why this happened and what the aim of a political party actually is; not to be ideologically pure and perpetually protest, but to be in power to make a difference.

And as a result of that vote you'll see unprecedented funding go into that area over the next five years. Because its now a viable swing seat instead of a Labour no man's land that can be ignored by both parties as the vote is taken for granted.

It's what I wish the people of Knowsley would understand - loyalty to Labour has got them the square sum of nothing.
