The markets seem to have reacted positively to the result.....
Let's see how those markets react in February and then in 2021.

Fuming again now.
The fella is a kopite – and not a great one, I admit. But you can very much put that aside when he's literally keeping people alive by teaming up with us across the park to provide basic stuff like FOOD.
I wasn't calling Ian a closet Tory btw
More like the SUN and DM's government
That's very simplistic though. A lot of Labour voters - a lot of people in general - are staunchly anti brexit. The problem when a key issue has a 52/48 split amongst the public is that whatever stance you choose to take on it you're going to alienate almost half the electorate. Labour were in a very difficult position, the choice they made didn't work but who knows how it would have ended up if they'd gone the other way. He's a brexiteer, that's the funny thing in all this, had he stuck to his beliefs, not been cowed into changing Labour into a remain party by his own front bench, he'd have had a great shot at being PM.
All he had to say is we will honour the referendum, 5m Labour voters don't vote Tory and Brexit party through gritted teeth.
I could not disagree more, you submit that manifesto without brexit hanging over the country and it's game on.
This is not a rejection of Labour policy, it is a vote for Brexit, I know the Tories are trying to dress it up as wholesale support for the way they run the country but they know they are lying their arses off saying it's anything but Brexit that won them 5 more years.
The Tories are a brexit party, they won the election, all Labour needed to do was an honourable thing in the eyes of the public and say to the the electorate we honour your vote on EU membership, they do that and they take away the Tories unique selling point as a party in this election. That's very simplistic though. Certainly from the front bench.Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbot now need to go. Labour need an overhaul with fresh faces and new ideas.
But Blair was New Labour - a branch of the neo-lib supporters club.It did under Blair too. Different times but you're talking 10+ years ago
They have free hand with a big majority for 5 years. You really don't think Johnson is just going to concentrate on Brexit for 5 years do and do nothing else?I could not disagree more, you submit that manifesto without brexit hanging over the country and it's game on.

The Tory remainers looked in fear at their wallets and purses and still voted Tory.It would have been better but still not great. If the best you can realistically hope for against a crap Tory government that had been in power for 10 years is a hung parliament then something isn't quite geared up to win elections. If Labour's policies appealed to the masses why didn't they pick up a load of Tory remain seats?
Brexit had a big part no doubt, but so was Corbyn and so was the policies Labour put out.
As I said, extremely simplistic. The Tories are a brexit party, they won the election, all Labour needed to do was an honourable thing in the eyes of the public and say to the the electorate we honour your vote on EU membership, they do that and they take away the Tories unique selling point as a party in this election.
Labour failed spectacularly to realise Brexit was everything in this election, they backed the NHS to win it for them, they were badly wrong.
We disagree, brexit was everything, voters deserted Labour in their millions because of it, you don't get a majority like that without it.As I said, extremely simplistic.
Brexit hasn't won the tories the last 2 elections has it? You're making it sound like it was a given that Labour would take power just by saying they'd leave, but that's demonstrably untrue. Brexit has clearly had a massive impact on the result, but if you honestly think it's as simple as you're suggesting you're living in cloud cuckoo land.
As far I can see the tories hadn’t ‘won’ two of the last 3 elections at all and the one they did win was with a very small majorityAs I said, extremely simplistic.

I agree. Northern towns didn’t desert labour because of Corbyns socialist policies. We disagree, brexit was everything, voters deserted Labour in their millions because of it, you don't get a majority like that without it.
