When you look at a city state like Singapore, 5 million people, benevolent dictatorship from day one under LKY, and compare it to how the UK is or should be governed, do you ever stop and think that you're making an absolutely retarded comparison?
Oh so im a retard lol
In that case the UK with its £70mil odd population should be able to pay higher than Singapore and attract far higher calibre people to stand for elections.
Surely if the quality (from an outside view) of Corbyn, Abbot, Johnson etc isnt great then this is where things should start...
Who would give up a multi-million pound position for a shot at being an MP and then a chance to be a front bencher then PM...
Not many successful people.
Labour is essentially copying housing in Singapore, though to a far lesser extent
you would pay 45% on income earned above 80k, not 45% of 80k
HDBs in Singapore are derived from the individuals allowance (CPF) not sure how that would work in the UK? Singaporeans are given a pathway to buy them...
You seem to be portraying it in a skewed manner, tax is only paid at 50pc once one meets that threshold. Additionally, once one has covered basic needs, those with higher incomes can invest easier pre-tax.
Yeah i worded it incorrectly.
But my point still stands...why would any person want to stay in a country with those massive tax rates?
If someone earns £200k for example thats a huge chunk of his money gone...
Top talent will leave...wouldnt you?
I can see it being hugely counterproductive.
Whats Corbyns policy on foreigners owning UK housing? Because if thats not super tight with 15%+ stamp duty (like in other countries) then foreigners could come in a sweep up lots of properties...
