I was being sent on operations from the government when I was 17 but they wouldn’t let me vote.

I had the mental capacity to qualify as a submariner and become a telecommunications engineer but wasn’t able to vote.

Lower the age to 16. Just because we have some less mature people at that age shouldn’t punish others. We have absolute fools in every age bracket. If you work and pay taxes, you should get a vote. Simple.

Anybody over the age of 16 who lives in the uk should be able to vote. A country who have no reservations sending 16 year olds to war torn countries can’t then deny them people a vote. Just my opinion.

We dont send 16 year olds to war torn countries, you arent allowed on ops these days (in the army at least) until you're 18.

Well I stand corrected and apologise, they allow 16 year olds to join the services I should have said, old enough to sign up yet not old enough to vote ?
