TBF though the US didn't "have a war to get rid of Nazism" - for a start, Hitler declared war on them not the other way around; and secondly the troops who fought to defeat Hitler and the Japanese went back to a country that (in at least half of it) banned people of different races from marrying, sleeping together and other fun activities, and would for another twenty-two years.
In many areas the Nazis copied the US, not the other way around.

It matters not really, but I thought the US had a treaty or something that said they would join the war in Europe if they were attacked by Japan.

There wasn't - though there were other deals signed, there was no binding commitment to join the fight against Germany in the event of a Japanese attack.
Spent a bit of time having a look at Stormfront. Just came up after reading David Duke's wiki page. Fair play to Liam for making me educate myself even further.
It's GOT for white nationalist. It is frightening.
There is a forum for guests. Since you are a guest you are instructed to not poke fun at white nationalists. Let's be clear what a white nationalist is...it's a racist white person.
David Duke's material is cited as essential reading. His writings are the basis of their sub culture.
Folks buying the Breitbart/alt right movement are just buying the long game that white racists have been selling for eons.
The new members section is eye opening.
After about 30 minutes of digging I had to get out. Won't go back.
You see a guy like Liam on here dancing and wriggling his words around white nationalism to trying to normalize it, then you go to a place like Stormfront and are jaw dropped that it's the same message unfiltered.

That white racists hide behind the term white nationalist...or nationalists for short.

I obviously disagree with the idea that "nationalist" = "racist" but it's natural to talk about the perils of nationalism.

I read a great book over Christmas about the guy that essentially invented the word 'genocide' and how that featured in the run up and execution of the Nuremburg war trials.
At the time both the US and the UK were terrified about how any grand set of idealisms presented at the trial could end up being used against them (UK in terms of the Empire and the US and the treatment of black people).

I'm Jewish, and I've looked at that place a couple of times out of morbid curiosity. Their obsession with us and how powerful we supposedly are would be funny if it wasn't so disturbing.
Alt-right, my arse. They're Nazis. Pure and simple. People like Liam think I belong in a gas chamber. I'm done with trying to be nice to them.

Nope. The USA were attacked by Japan then Germany declared war on the USA. Until that point the USA stayed out of it and made money.........

While I totally agree with the first paragraph, the second is a bit harsh. While the USA did indeed promote segregation, and for quite a while, it did not use violence as a means of control as a matter of course.......
I've spent many hours on that site, and continue to do so. I think I even have an account there*. It is simply disgusting and the amount of anti-semitism, hatred of blacks, women, etc., is shocking no matter how many times you see it. White nationalism is what it is: a faction of neo-nazis, KKK, and other far-right racist groups lamenting the (completely false) decline of the white "race" and scapegoating non-white groups. And you'd be shocked to learn that it is somewhat of a mild hate-site.

Well, I didn't say that they "used violence as a means of control as a matter of course" - though of course thats what they did, at least with regards to attempts to unionize (which in the most extreme example led to an actual battle being fought) and in terms of relations with the Native communities.
What I meant was that the policies around race, around eugenics (especially) and probably the idea of lebensraum itself all have clear inspiration from what the US had done in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
