I meant mystery investors because I know the likes of Robert Earl don't contribute to player signings.

I was on my way home from work and the news came on. On the sports news there was this guy who had researched what clubs owed an what owners had spent. He spoke about the shite and then investing £140m an also that the 'Yanks' had put £140 in aswell. even with all the debt.
Then.......
He said.
"Bill Kenwright hasn't put a penny into Everton"
He spoke about people buying shares and others investing. But KENWRONG aint invested a penny...FACT!!!!
Made my blood boil. And we sit an do nothing!!!!!!
Please, let get this piece of **** out are club.....
KENWRONG OUT NOW!!!!!!
Plus this gut was'nt from any Everton group, he was an independent.
I often hark back to the glory days of "survival Saturday" and constant relegation worries. Johnson, you beaut of a rs, come back we miss you. In all honesty, I'm now ducking out of these discussions after this post as it really is pointless. Post something when you internet hard men get off your backsides and storm the board room. Spitting in the wind, is, well, spitting in the wind. I'm sure the board are trembling at this moment at your continued diatribes.
Don't worry lad's, I have been playing the Lotto and once I win, I'm going to buy EFC.
The future is bright.
Without doubt we have been the most unprofessionally run club in this country ever since the summer after the cup final where we had no investment until after Lescott's sale, we were going good until then with two good players coming in every window. But that's gone down the window and now the club has stood still because of no action taken by the board to improve the squad through investment with their own cash, simply not good enough
Portsmouth? Crystal Palace? Darlington? Chester? Bournemouth? Stockport? All these lids went in to adminsistration since then...

I understand that we are not doing particularly bad in terms of debt and profits, but we need investment in the squad or we will fall behind again after these years of steady progress, which would make just being profitable pointless as we the fans are not the ones who make these profits, we contribute to them and in return we want to see investment and a successful team, I understand we can't be regularly buying players for 20 mil but a steady investment each window on top of the talent we have got already would keep us in and around the top six and it's not happening despite all these big chang and kitbag sponsorship deals in which elstone promised would help with improving our playing staff, it's frustrating to say the least. Are you talking about David Conn and his annual look at Premier League finances? I just read through the article on the Guardian and looked at the data he's collected. Compared to some clubs, Everton are doing pretty well.
As to the question of owner funding, I would never require an owner to fund transfers and wage bills out of his own pocket (although I would love it if he did). The return on investment for that is almost nothing. Some of those ownership funds were just a symptom of relegation and promotion (i.e. funding the club for a year or two until you get the big Premier League payday). I would think, however, that providing funds to increase the permanent revenue of the club would be a great thing for both the owners, club, and supporters. Talking about stadium improvements and things like that.
In the end, Everton must be self-sufficient. We pushed our wage bill a little higher this past year, hoping to make a run at Europe and the FA cup but it hasn't worked out. Continuing to do so would be a risk. Everton are more than capable of competing in the Premier League given our revenue but we need to reign it in a bit since we can't rely on BK to back us up financially.
It'll be interesting to see what happens to teams like ManCity and Chelsea when financial fair play starts. ManCity have already stated that they won't be spending as much this summer in preparation for that. Personally I think one or both may be removed from European competitions in 2014-2015. I believe that's when it kicks in.
