inner city look up the deal they have set up for finch farm, its in the public domain, its not something to be held up as this boards best moment. sir blue as an Everton fan will be aware of it hence his response .

Exactly. It would be far better if we hired a wintery cottage somewhere and trained by running in the snow and sawing wood, chopping logs and bench pressing logs whilst every other team trains like Drago in some hi tech training facility.

i didnt say it was a bad training ground, but the deal set up to get it was.

Perhaps it was the only way it could be financed. Either way bottom line, we have a world class training facility, purpose built for Everton.

Leasing is very common in the business world. You can dislike the deal and have a go at the board for it, but in order to look like you don't have a completely blinkered agenda (which is seemingly evident from your posts) you should see it as a positive achievement of the board that we have this state of the art training facility available to us.

you stated DK and FF were highlights of this board, DK was a disaster in waiting, and finch farm shows just how poor this board are financially, and in forward thinking.its overall cost will far outweigh its value. leasing may be common practice, but how many prem teams do this, and at this cost. the facts are this board have outstayed their welcome.

i admit i dont like the board, but ending up paying either £17.5 to buy it plus the five years rent till the clause kicks in or a million rent a year for fifty years, for something we could have build for around £6 million that would replace bellfield which we sold for between 8 or 10 million depending on which figures you use, and you can add the sale of the nertherton site as well on top that , so why not wait till we sold bellfield and netherton and build it are selves, we owned the land before selling to the developer had the same facilities and had a money in the bank, instead of either £22.5 or fifty million further in debt over the coming years.

I think the question is, could we have built a state of the art training ground, even on Bellfield for £8m? I don't know, I'm not as clued up on these type of building projects as you clearly are, but its the sort of story which, even when someone says the board did good, those who hate the board will point out how bad they were. Its like fighting shadows as I'd never be able to prove that it could have been built for cheaper.

I can point out that it was built, and no amount of anti board bull**** can deny that. Or, at least give them some credit, but I do realise that your world view of the board as the ultimate in Dr Evil management doesn't allow for even the smallest amount of praise. Shame really, and the principal reason why trying to point out any achievements is simply doomed to ridicule by yourselves.

the fact that FF is deemed a success shows the true level of this board, against all the failures and lies/misinformation, the one shining light is, we have a state of the art training ground, which we dont own . well, thats me convinced, bill is a god, lets have statues of him all round the ground, public holidays on which , kopites are dragged from their sewer and flogged before being sacrificed on a blue altar, in recognition of the boards achievement. how royally f##ked we are to have supporters who class this as a reason to congratulate this shower of incompetant, clueless clowns. just go and eat a mars bar.

i am not an expert blacktoffee, they siad it had cost them that figure to bulld it included the land purchase from us, if we build the same thing it would have been cheaper as we owned the land. i must take a hint though i am getting a bit of an anti board zealot, its affecting my enjoyment of everton, from now on i will try to have a better outlook, enjoy the good ignor the bad, i did say the new kit was ok so theres a start.
ps might not have been clear but i meant sell bellfield and use the money on finch farm which we owned

It's in the club's articles of association that no director takes a wage from the club.

Um could I point out that this isn't true? Or at least is only half the clause:

"Only directors who are also employees of the club shall be entitled to receive any remuneration from the company"

Hence Wyness was both a director and paid a wage. Not sure if Elstone is currently a director.

The board are ambitious. The setting up of the world's best training ground at Finch Farm and the move to Kirkby proves that.

What are the rail connections to Fich Farm...... multiplatform, with underground connections hopefully? Presume they've planned for further high speed eurostar integration to put us right into the European hub? Otherwise it's going to be hard to justify the money we'll spend over the lease period compared to the build cost.

I don't own my house, does that make me and millions of others a failure? Its like you think we have millions slouching around ready to be spent on Kaka. We don't. We know why. Your bile comes from a complete lack of understanding of FF.

Did we purchase the ground outright in the first place?
Did we have the money to built FF ourselves?
What evidence exists that we could have built it any cheaper?
Why would the board go for the most expensive option?

I'd love to say that the board were all perfect, but like you and me they are human. No doubt you've never made a mistake in your life, or taken a wrong turn. I'll say what I've said on numerous occasions. I don't want the board to remain for ever and ever. I want them to sell, but I don't want them to sell to the first crook who comes to the door.

So, with no buyer waiting at the door, and with the bank not seeking to foreclose on us, it would appear that your only tactic is to cast them as the devil incarnate. I can really see Kenwright / Earl et al wetting their pants. We should be having an intelligent discussion about the best way of making changes. Instead your tactics (much like the amber scarf) is juvenile and alienates those fans who would love to join your cause. Just go to the blueroom and see how well the amber scarf has been received because those are the fans you have to convince.

Good post mate!

And so as time passes, the huddled masses of Kenwrongers become increaseingly frustrated with a lack of progression or investment - clever words like "net spend" prove such, one thing is evident we missed the boat big style with Kirkby, so there is no point moaning about a lack of progress.investment if you couldnt see what a great oppurtunity it was.

And for that reason, im out.

We dodged a ****ing big bullet with Kirkby. I can see what a great opportunity it was for the board tbf.

so wrong its untrue, we missed the boat big time with kings dock, we swerved an iceberg over kirkby. read the inquiry properly, it was a hugely flawed project.
