Apparently the Everton journos like Prentice and O'Keefe have been locked out of the place as a continuing punishment for the survey of fans the paper did last week. I'm hearing the reporters are relying on ITK supporters for their info these days and their relationship with Elstone is all but over.

Anyone else hearing about this? Talk about clobbering any form of dissent. :o

Davek. Don't be so disingenuous acting like you didn't already know about this or that its shocking you really.

Or that you're not trying to incite posting this on here.

Say whats obviously on your mind lad.

I knew that there were some problems before the Chelsea replay, but I didn't realise it's an ongoing situation. Isn't it a bit OTT to ban these people for doing their job (for once) as reporters?

Banning reporters based on an online poll reeks of pettiness if its true given the fact that 100 percent of management thinks the club needs more investment. I think its more related to the bad season we're having.

Can't remember exactly, but didn't we ban the press many moons ago from Bellefield under Joe Royle ???
- in the end probably contributed to his downfall........

Has moyes banned them or elstone? Cos end of the day, moyes is the one who deals with them every week so it should be him to say who does the press before a game if he can.

Some back room suit getting all arsey cos of a report that stuck the knife in a little having final say over football reporters is beyond what he should be doing....unless he felt threatened.

Another good way of making that rs rag report about us less.

ye your spot on mate, spoke to dave prentice just today.ellstone has banned them on kenwrights say so,fu//en joke

If I remember right, sure we banned some press in the late 60's or sometime in the 90's.
Also at Man Utd they won't give interviews to the BBC

evertons current custodians are dreadful but i don't mind them launching one into the echo - it's a daily evening edition of 'the kop'. don't give it any of your silver or internet hits. in fact if evertonians stopped buying it we could help close it down and maybe send another message to local 'groupings' that are happy to see us marginalised at the alter of the kop cash cow.

its been a sh!t tabloid format for too long and it made it's choice follow the red side long ago. let it go.

yes it seems very childish by everton but it's only the lfc echo at the end of the day.

Incredible.

In effect, what Kenwright has done is to slap supporters backdown. The Echo couldn't fail to have registered the mood and fears of Evertonians in the run up to - and just after - the club accounts being published. They responded to that. So the message Kenwright and Elstone are now sending out by banning the Echo is that any new upsurge in the criticism of the club's board (and it'll defo come again in the summer) the Echo better not reflect it or they'll be punished again.

"1,400" fans responded . Pathetic really less than 2% of a full house at goodison.
