the managing partner wanted to get people back in the office for the 'family feel', so people in the office just chat all day knowing that they will get away with it as they said the reason to go back, is to interact, i love seeing how much the chatting winds people up

Back before covid we would often do bits from home after hours when needed. But now our idiot boss has us back full time because “it creates a better work environment which isn’t possible at home” we have now deleted our work emails off our phones (well most of us) and refuse to answer any work related calls. Well it’s what he meant wasn’t it.

I'm surprised any firm would go back to 5 days in the office tbh, how will they retain staff or find new?

I'd never work in a company where I have to go into the office more than 2 days a week again

We are currently interviewing for a few positions but he can’t get anyone in. Salary demands and working from home at least 50%. He’s painted himself in a corner and it’s a joy to witness.

I got £3900 pa as a full time carer. Yep, you read that right btw.

That is outrageous. Over here it is means tested but ranges from €224 pw for a carer under 66 caring for one person to €393 pw for a carer over 66 caring for two persons.

I still think this is way too low considering the amount being saved by the Health Service by not having these as long stay patients in public hospital beds.

Carers are true heroes.
