Yes, and as per the BBC article I shared barely a page before this, the vast majority of refugees stay in the first country they reach, which is usually Greece, Turkey, or Italy. The number that reach France to try and get into the UK is tiny, and most of those are due to family connections. I can't tell if people in this thread are lazy or daft or both but you could literally spend a few hours researching this and not make the same ridiculous posts over and over again.

Ukraine is their only chance to hold on to power. They are fully aware of that and are now trying to show some relevance on the world stage. They are a complete embarrassment.

Does it make you proud to be quite so ignorant? Post after post you display such a complete lack of understanding of this topic and not the briefest hint of self-awareness at how utterly ridiculous you sound.
And, for the record, what they're proposing is abhorrent, just as it was when Australia had camps offshore.

No need Bruce. I get it, you want a completely open door to anyone in the world, without any sort of processing, I get it. I want legal immigrants. You've been handed statistics today that show you there are less people crossing the channel to Britain than are attempting to settle in other European nations. You've been asked why it would be a worse suggestion to just let them arrive without having to risk their lives and process their claims whilst they stay in Britain and you haven't answered.
Now, I've not been here that long, but could it be that you just don't like the idea of foreign people living in the UK?
This issue isn't about open borders but you repeatedly failing to understand this topic in any way whatsoever. You've shown a willful refusal to do anything to actually inform yourself and continue to blurt out complete ignorance time after time. It's painful from a supposedly educated man.
