Starmer hit the nail on the head with that one line about people thinking all politicians are the same.
Yes that is the one Tory wish, that Johnson can drag every MP down to his level, in the gutter, in the eyes of the electorate.

From my understanding the traffickers really on a narrative of boats landing in the UK and everything being easy. If the feedback/grapevine turned to "you'll be deported to Rwanda," well I am sure that this is what Boris will be hoping for.If you're willing to risk a journey in the first place why would you a) think this is a deterrent b) just not make the journey again?
It’s a very difficult subject to fix. I stayed 3 weeks in Ghana. Lost track of the amount of people wanting my contact details to help them move to the U.K. This was in February time, and I remember when leaving a freezing and wet Newcastle airport that it was one of the grimmest places and all I was thinking was, why would people want to leave all their friends and families and way of life for that and why are they asking a sunburnt man covered in mosquito bites. From my understanding the traffickers really on a narrative of boats landing in the UK and everything being easy. As for making the journey again that is a real worry as you'd imagine many will have been cleaned out by the unsuccessful attempt, leaving them open to debt bondage if it was attempted again. I have seen a few shocking reports about the Nigerian gangs targeting West Africans, Eritreans and Sudanese migrants. There really should be a unified approach from the west to this IMO.
A: I’d propose going back to the drawing board and coming up with a better solution.
In this scenario, it is the job of the government to solve problems, not the job of the opposition.
Doing it in place isn't any use Pete. Imagine saying to a Ukrainian that they have to wait in Kiev or Afghanistan for 6 months while their claim is processed. People don't get into the back of a wagon for the fun of it. It shouldn't be our aim to "stop smuggling" by also preventing people from successfully claiming asylum in the UK, which is all this Rwandan farse does.

The truth is, it’s better here. Many nations where people are coming from are overtly corrupt and chances of becoming better off are limited and life is precarious. Why would any right minded parent want to bring their children up in that. People talk about ‘economic migrants’ or ‘legal’ migrants. The truth is it’s just people doing what is probably the most natural of human behaviours; moving to a place of safety or better resources. The fact that they are demonised and punished for this unveils some of the most disgusting elements of humanity.
37 billion on track and trace though that never workedBut they are not demonised. It’s purely that we neither have the space, facilities, nor money to take in all of the worlds people who want to be here…it would be lovely if we could, but we can’t……
They are absolutely are. They’re dehumanised and treated as a problem that someone else can deal with. We’re going to send people to Rwanda where they’ll be in an extremely perilous and precarious situation. But they are not demonised.

Posted it earlier - thick as pigshit.Listening to someone today trying to defend Boris over misleading parliament etc, and Priti Patel over Rwanda, think his name was Tom *unt, sorry Hunt, what an absolute bellend and typical Tory @peteblue
