Whats the difference between JSA and Universal Credit ? Why do people on Universal Credit get more than those on JSA ?
UC is both an in-work benefit for the low-paid, and for those not expected to be actively seeking employment for whatever reason.

JSA is meant to drive people into taking any work they're offered or killing themselves because it's so miserly.

Thanks. Im even more confused now though...

I signed on about 18 months ago for a period of 10 weeks, was put on Universal Credit despite having no income but was expected to spend full time hours actively seeking employment which goes against your description of it being just for low paid workers and those who not expected to seek employment.

That was my understanding of it, might be wrong. Been years since I claimed JSA, before UC was a thing.

Would depend how many hours you work. People get things like min 7hour a week contracts (which are essentially zero hour just not in name) so if you worked 7hours a week you get a UC payment each month as you wouldn’t have earned enough. Whole thing is a mess and allows big organisations to treat staff as disposable commodities knowing that the state can top up their ‘pay’

Tory knobhead makes up facts shocker.

“Mutual aid in the economic field and joint military defence must inevitably be accompanied step by step with a parallel policy of closer political unity.”
“Britain is an integral part of Europe, and we mean to play our part in the revival of her prosperity and greatness.”

Winston Churchill, 1947.

You all realize, of course, that they have no intention of actually getting shut of Boris and in the end they will hang on to power by any means necessary. Over here even prison probably won’t stop our fascist cult.
