People don’t care. They want the very last Bulgarian out of town and they want it now.

Government promised to remove all cladding present on Grenfell Tower by June 2020...
Except the designers, developers, builders and construction companies are arguing that the buildings were in line with regs at the time of their construction. And then we get the endless court cases to establish cause, blame and responsibility.TBF this isn't something that government should be required to do the removal for - the fault and the bill for this must lie with developers; they are the ones who cut costs and in almost every other context we'd expect designers and builders of things to be liable when it turns out their product is dangerous.
What government (and I mean successive governments here) should be held liable for is the serial failure - after Lakanal, and now after Grenfell - to do anything substantial about how developers and freeholders are serially screwing over people like this. Huge areas of London have been given over to very expensive, very shoddy developments that are basically giant monuments to scams.
Except the designers, developers, builders and construction companies are arguing that the buildings were in line with regs at the time of their construction. And then we get the endless court cases to establish cause, blame and responsibility.
And here we are, people trapped in these unsellable buildings, without the finances to escape. Is there not an expectation that the Government should step in, as they promised to do, and rectify the situation?
As usual, they have failed in that respect.
And while they are arguing, using the courts, people are still having to live in these buildings.Let them argue until they are blue in the face; the buildings are dangerous and they built them and sold them in that condition - ergo its on them to pay up.
I agree 100% the government have failed - but developers take the urine constantly and need to be stamped on.
And while they are arguing, using the courts, people are still having to live in these buildings.
Its a situation that demands Govt step in to secure the safety of its citizens. That fire was a warning yesterday, but it barely merits a mention anywhere.
