Trouble is, a lot of folk in the Gig economy quite like it. When I was a "self employed" delivery bloke, I loved being able to dictate the units/hours I would work. Not day by day, cos thats daft, but we agreed a limit; if they needed helping out they would ask if I could take on a few more, and if it was a quiet day, they would try and bulk me up.

I guess me being self employed for 15 odd years means I view the independence that can afford you as better than paid sick leave and holidays. And being told what to do.

We live in capitalism and they have the belt road initiative. They have found away of exploiting the inherent flaw in unchecked Capitalism, greed. They pay off the right people, the right institutions then they own them.

We don’t, but there’s no reason (economic, social, moral or otherwise) why we should have anything to do with them.
