There were one or two Patel defenders on here when the bullying scandal first came out.

Well - The Government has made a six figure settlement with Philip Rutnam, ex Home Office and Transport Permanent Secretary, over Patel's bullying.

Patel doing tremendous work helping this 'smug whining functionary' out of the door...

To the tune of a huge settlement - which would not be authorised without there being real risk of much greater liability.

Like I've said on here before - she is 100% guilty of it. I know for sure.

The FDA (my trade union) are also continuing to pursue the wider issues.

Plus the £25k paid to stop another one taking her to court for similar.

She's absolutely unfit for government.

Given the spin involved in the announcement, the figure involved; the only conclusion you can come to (without the knowledge you have) is that the Government reached the settlement they have, to prevent much greater financial liability and reputational damage.

It has been confirmed as £370K of taxpayers money.
What exactly does somebody in the government have to do before they're forced to resign or be sacked? Patel costing the country hundreds of thousands, Cummings openly breaking the very regulations he himself formed, Hancock acting unlawfully; the list goes on.

Do we have to wait until one of them is caught committing armed robbery?

Always going to settle ill advised for employee to have their day in court against employer if there is an offer of settlement on the table, judges take a dim view on reputational revenge, be amazed if a legal advice suggested otherwise ever on such matters. And yep the law is an ass.

Corruption not cronyism.
Synonymous with each other.

The Government offered the settlement, and the sum involved, which indicates the Government knew they would lose comprehensively at tribunal.

He has not withdrawn any of his public criticism either as part of the settlement.
