I just think it gives him a pretty convenient excuse. (Could cite Covid side effects as well)

He could still sit as an MP, (£40k pay cut, give or take), and/or pick up his Telegraph columns again. (£600k, give or take).

He has never really shown a desire to do anything longterm. I dont think he is that arsed about politics once he has got to PM, he isnt some idealist or campaigner, and isnt turned on by being a public servant.

Being Mayor of London turned him on, cos he didnt have to actually do much. And no one noticed anyrate. If the Olympics hadnt rocked up, I doubt he would have bothered with that neither.
Lazy chancer pretty much sums him up. He looks spent force already...no chance he lasts 4 more years. He couldn't be bothered.

It's like the class clown who gets to be teacher for a lesson... It's interesting for a while but both clown and audience start to realise the incompatibility.

Yep, pretty much.

Not gonna lie, when I have read his columns, I find them interesting, and pretty good. And amusing. But I like reading Jeremy Clarksons scribes as well. For the same reasons.

Both were decent HIGNFI hosts. That is Boris Johnson.

He's entertaining - a good after dinner speaker. An Eton Mess to go with dessert. It's where he should stay.

I think it takes a particular type of person to enjoy being PM. Johnson isn't that sort.

At risk of widening the chat into the Royals, its a similar thing. Like they have little choice, but I would hate to be one; I guess Johnson would not relish the boredom and restrictions if he was one neither.

Bozo wanted and believed that as someone who had "born to rule" instilled into him from a very early age that it was his destiny to be PM. However, when he realised that the position involved doing actual "work", he employed other people to make, or "advise" on decisions for him. Like Trump he's a blustering man who achieved his position on 3 words "Get Brexit Done" Now his mate has been dumped in the USA, and Carrie has gotten rid of Cain and Cummings, he is exposed as the fraud he really is.
Don't think he will last much longer as PM...whether removed by his own party or voluntarily stepping down. I think it will be the latter.

Patel isn't a politician, she's a corporate lobbyist. She must have some serious dark horse connections to have got where she is and for Johnson to be protecting her in this way, although to be fair the Tories do seem to love rewarding avarice and failure.

I would really like to know why she was so keen to hand over tax payers cash to the Israeli military not so long ago.
