Tories really showing how they see the proles once again “Working-class girls have been deprived of jobs that they love such as Page 3 girls and [Formula One] grid girls because other women disapprove of them. What happened to ‘my body, my choice’?”

Christ! I thought you were paraphrasing with an additional dose of sarcasm. That's a direct quote! Wowzers.

Yeah, I wouldn't have believed it if someone told me. The whole appointment and comment once again just shows that they think they are completely unanswerable to anyone

As much as I understand the concept behind foreign aid and the benefits of it, I don't understand criticism of cutting it by 0.2%, given some of the countries that were recipients of it.

With our borrowing the way it is, it's just common sense.

He's entertaining - a good after dinner speaker. An Eton Mess to go with dessert. It's where he should stay.

Probably been shared around here before, but a good account of Boris’s after dinner schtick is here from Jeremy Vine. Bit long, but interesting, as it shows his orchestrated management of his bumbling public image.

Stain on Britain Windrush.

And I somehow imagine you won't see the same level of outrage either from Tory cheerleaders as they were and are screaming from the rooftops over anti-Semitism in Labour.

And for the record all forms of racism, inequality etc should be condemned and dealt with wherever they may be found, you get dont pick and choose as and when, well unpleasant people can.

Not the first racist policy May's Government introduced.

What do you mean by your last paragraph? To which countries are you referring, and where do you think any public money released by this cut is going to go.

We send money to the likes of China, India and so on.

It can be spent better, more streamlined. It's often used as a political influence tool rather than genuine aid.

0.5% is still more than most countries.

If that is is the right figure, then why did this very party put it at 0.7%?

Because we're soft, putting it bluntly. We've always been a top foreign aid donor.

It's faux outrage. All that'll happen is we stop sending stupid money to China and India, who - being rich, nuclear countries - will I'm sure cope by having to look after their own bloody populations for once, and we're still outspending the vast majority of nations on foreign aid.

Indeed, rather than moan about it being reduced by 0.2%, there's more of an argument as to why it isn't being reduced further, or at least made more opaque in terms of how it is spent e.g. who it goes to, does the money actually get used on the projected indicated and so on.

EDIT: For reference, biggest recipient of foreign aid is Pakistan. The same Pakistan that maintains a nuclear arsenal. It's a farce.
