‘Move on’ ‘matter’s closed’ no one gets sacked, no accountability. Pretty disgusting state of affairs. Well in lads

Me myself and I...

It plays very well, this looks and feels all to familiar, it's reeks of Majors Government back to basics only on Steroids, crooks at the trough, self serving. And we've had Minister declaring if you want influence the Government policy cough up £1000 for Tory fund raising dinner and you may have a chance...

And in the wake of literally thousands losing there jobs everyday it's what the nation wants, minister lording it up and enriching themselves!

At least in Major’s government there was some form of accountability. Mellor and Yeo both got sacked for having affairs.
I think it’s a lot to do with the news cycles now and the thousands of different narratives that can be produced. It’s information overload.
The tories have learnt off the US that stories come and go and they can get away with anything. Good for the current politicians but bad for accountability and public trust. In addition, political mistrust is more detrimental to the left than right.

The right (Tories) they've always hid behind fairytale of empire and patriotic lust they have always ran to this ground, tis why they are having a head wobble over black lives matter, it's reshaping the political landscape. Everything about this Government is still about Brexit and populism ,the country has moved on because it had too. And there are flair ups of civil disorder, even midweek now, it's spreading the distrust.

There is so much you can lay at door of Tory Governance now it's hard where to begin, however they have little to none moral authority, it's so evident... And this is honeymoon period the easy bit!

This is extremely troubling.
This is why those championing 'taking back our laws' have very little credibility.

They are prepared to undermine, attack and diminish the law of it suits their own ends.

Overreaching executive power, law and order policy, circumnavigation of parliamentary sovereignty, branding the judiciary and elected representatives as traitors, misrepresention of safeguards and human rights as inconvenience etc....

Not too long ago, although it feels like decades, the Tories were proposing a 'British Bill of Rights' https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proposed_British_Bill_of_Rights One of the things that would make Britain 'unique' in that Bill was the cornerstone of trial by Jury. It wasn't long ago - months - that Michael Gove was calling suspension of Jury trial in Scotland 'troubling'.

We've fallen a long way in a short time.
