This government is the worst in my living memory. They’re just so incapable it begs belief. It’s getting to the point now where they’re completely indefensible in almost all of their actions.

Boris Johnson is so much worse than we could ever have imagined him to be. He’s a pompous phoney and by all accounts is lazy. He’s utterly useless.

Almost £1m respraying a plane ffs.

This last two Tory governments are not only the worse in living memory but possibly of all time. With 130 000 preventable austerity deaths and 70 000 unnecessary coronavirus deaths that's 20 000 per year. In the history of Britain these last 10 years are an unmitigated disaster. That is even before the court cases against this government and it's ministers over care homes, PPE, other Tory bungs to their mates, Jenricks property scandal that pocketed his mate millions and Raab's diplomatic immunity fiasco.

Hancock tried to block plan to build 400 homes in Newmarket
Exclusive: health secretary claimed scheme would damage horse racing industry, from which he received donations

Rachel Hood, the then Conservative mayor of Newmarket, and her husband, John Gosden, a prominent horseracing trainer who gave evidence opposing the scheme at the public inquiry, each gave Hancock £10,000 in December 2018 and May last year respectively.

I was looking at him from an unbiased and detached viewpoint and not reliant upon him for my income........

I had a Departmental contract, not a contract directly with Philip.

I have no reason to be biased towards Philip. I simply have a significant amount of experience of what he is like within a professional work setting.

You, on the other hand, were looking at him from a completely uninformed view point.

You don't always know best Pete.

Is surprises not one little bit. They have done the same with social care. They have now got exactly the same proposal's through in their COVID response that were turfed out parliament in 2017, because it put children in care at greater risk. Its removed the legal requirement of need for a child in care to see a social worker, to local authority should try it's best...

Because of Austerity, local authorities were struggling with their legal responsibilities, less now with this move. All that guffing about child sex grooming gangs, they don't care.

And it will come the death/s and scandal then the report and failings, will highlight this move by this Government...

this cannot be allowed to happen , it’s a basic tenet not just of our legal framework but of our society as a whole . There are problems with the way the jury system operates but to attempt to deny people the right to trial by a jury of the peers is simply wrong .
They have been and continue to wreck the fabric of our country and its institutions. Abhorrent spivs. Shame on those that helped empower them.

I agree with your last line......

Austerity fallout part of their chilling inhumanity. Social care issues will result in harm, deaths and scandals, followed by the grand announcement, an 'in depth' report, 'cast iron' recommendations that will be binned when the issue blows over and the cycle can begin again.
