''Boris Johnson says we have some of the "best and most productive companies in the world", but the UK is lagging behind some of its international competitors in productivity.

He says too many parts of our country have "felt left behind", stressing that his government has a vision to change this country "for the better" and "level up" inequalities.''

They do know they have been in charge for a decade and are the ones responsible for the inequalities and outside of London being left behind yeah?

BoJo still looks really quite unwell.

So much of what he is talking about in this speech is just reiterating previously stated funding btw.

And the acceleration of infrastructure spending on existing schemes, means we are throwing money at schemes with poor value for money because they can be delivered sooner.

The rhetoric is great. I hope at the Budget we actually see the funding to back it up, and with a long enough time horizon to actually get good value.
I think the most important thing is that we're not hearing the words austerity anywhere, which is the Tories usual backstop in times like these.

I'd like to see them take up Starmers suggestions of an interim special budget. Firstly it's a good idea and secondly it shows a willingness to listen to ideas from the opposition. We need to come together if we're to come through this relatively intact

Nice:
