Don't confuse things mate. A reporter's chat is one thing. A government statement that the PM was in Intensive Care is another. Its a question whether people really believe the latter was a lie.

There's a stark difference between saying he wasn't in an ICU bed and saying that he was in an ICU bed but still leading the government.

I agree that both are lies and yes it does raise questions, but you're astute and experienced enough to understand that it's not that black and white - clear cut.

There's a spectrum of severity when it comes to lies, which I'm sure you're also aware of. I'm not saying that it's right to lie by the way.
