It's almost like they're afraid of something. Shame also on the BBC for lickspittling in their kowtowing to the Tory policy of boycotting their programmes.

Wrong. Patel is a proven liar and was dumped out of the previous Tory Govt for being a duplicitous, self serving charlatan.

She was somehow promoted to be given one of the most prestigious offices of State, and now been accused of being a bully and a liar, by a senior civil servant with 30 years experience who’s now going to sue the Govt for constructive dismissal.

What has Patel ever done that gives her the credentials for the office she currently holds?

I’ll wait.

A Permanent Secretary doesn't handle the delivery of single programmes or projects. That you are asking demonstrates you havent got a clue what a Permanent Secretary does.

Considering you are pursuing this despite your opinions being baseless and worthless means this exchange is completely pointless. You will never change your mind, even though I literally worked with the man for over 10 hours a day for over a year.

Philip is a Tory by the way, in case you want to go down that conspiracy road.

Nothing really. And I cannot name a single politician of any party who has the credentials and experience either.....

Of course he doesn’t actually deliver them. But he was responsible for their delivery, much like a CEO or MD, he was not a bloody HR or Finance Director. You merely saying that my opinions are baseless and worthless doesn’t really cut it though, and your mentioning hundreds of thousands of people when the DfT employs what, 12-15,000 ? says to me that you are bluffing, and 10 hours a day is not exactly ‘driven’ is it.....you are right however that I will not change my mind on this particular individual, good riddance and let’s hope the next one shows a bit more urgency......

Shows you didn’t even listen to the statement Rutnam made, in which he clearly references the 35,000 people he was responsible for.

Factor in all of the agencies, including Network Rail, and it'll be a much higher number.

And actually, it is Ministers who are ultimately responsible. The Permanent Secretary is the accounting officer and chief advisor.

I worked on average about 10 hours a day for him, that isnt how long he worked.

And I'm genuinely not bluffing. I was one of his private secretary's (please don't ask me what that means).

And your opinions on Philip are baseless because they're not based on personal experience or knowledge.

I listened and I know he was responsible for 35,000 at the HO, but Philips‘ mate earlier referenced ‘Hundreds of Thousands’ while at the DfT and I merely pulled him up on it. Even adding them together doesn’t do it......you really must read the posts....

Then if you were the minister carrying the can, perhaps you might just have a few harsh words the ‘accounting officer and chief advisor’ who isn’t pulling his finger out. The HO minister needs people who can advise how to get things done and then ensure it is... I appreciate that I have no personal experience of dealing with him, but then again I’ve no personal experience of dealing with Jeremy Corbyn either, and I had him weighed up quickly as well......
