As a generalisation, I think if you choose to, or just do, live in a more remote place than the big cities, the pay off for having a nicer view, is the infrastructure will not be as good as getting across London.

I am no where near as remote as you, but even so, other than the pub, 2 miles is the nearest shop. Wouldnt swap for the world.

Don’t get me wrong I do live in a picturesque place and love living here but it’s also home to the second (or first ? ) busiest roll on roll off ferry terminal in Europe. Better rail and road links from here would boost the economy drastically.

I feel like I’m being ultra negative in my responses but even the rail links are poor. Just a quick check shows it’s around 6 hours on the train from here to Cardiff. It’s 4 and a half to London direct.

To be fair, they are to trains what the coconuts were to horses in Holy Grail.

Just had the people from Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire on complaining that there have been 3 floods in the last 7 and there elected representatives don't give a toss.
