Don’t get me wrong I do live in a picturesque place and love living here but it’s also home to the second (or first ? ) busiest roll on roll off ferry terminal in Europe. Better rail and road links from here would boost the economy drastically.As a generalisation, I think if you choose to, or just do, live in a more remote place than the big cities, the pay off for having a nicer view, is the infrastructure will not be as good as getting across London.
I am no where near as remote as you, but even so, other than the pub, 2 miles is the nearest shop. Wouldnt swap for the world.
