Oh dear, he's trying to pass it off as having felt in danger. Pretty obvious that they weren't in danger, and no climate protesters have ever had a record of physical violence. He was blatantly just peed off that people he probably regards as unwashed hippies had interloped on his evening. Lets call a spade a spade.
Incidentally, it's perhaps telling that the lady in question is not taking things any further. As seems so often on social media, just a lot of people getting significantly more wound up than the person they're getting wound up on behalf of.

I don't think there should be criminal proceedings, but I do think is behaviour is pretty poor and no party should want him as a minister based on this, bizarrely quick to anger and lash out

In short, it doesn't 'tell' anything without reference to her motives for doing so, ya bad egg.This is absolutely nothing like a domestic abuse situation
Well, she did remark that he needs to go to anger management classes, so it seems a reasonable leap to suggest she thought he was rough, but his actions really didn't warrant criminal investigation. Whatever her motives though, it's bizarre how other people are getting so much angrier about this than she herself is. People have whipped themselves up into a frenzy on Twitter.

That decision can be down to just the police these days, the lady in question does not have to go to the police for them to be involved.
Besides I would imagine she and fellow protesters are more than happy with the publicity achieved, probably more than they ever dreamt.

Well yes, it is odd that they even got as far as they did, as the security at these things is not only pretty tight, but it also seemed like they were halfway through the 'keynote' and a bunch of randoms turn up. As I said earlier, I kinda agree that Greenpeace were probably hoping for some kind of over the top response like this to create such a hullaballoo. Sadly their raison d'etre over the years has been to generally make a nuisance of themselves in the belief that doing so would change something. Really not sure where they get the idea that this is an approach that works.
