I hope Braverman’s comments are a wake up call to any non-trans LGBTQ+ folks who think that keeping quiet and letting trans people take the brunt of hate will mean the bigots will leave the rest of them alone

Trans people are the acceptable target, we saw rampant bigotry in a thread last night that would have been shut down had any other marginalised group been the target.

Everything you say is spot on.

We're aware. The forces of reaction are always with us and enjoy some wider support.

Those of us in the community who are active are also aware that it is difficult to engage others in campaigning against these forces. Trans people do not enjoy the full support of a number of other LGB people for various reasons / prejudices which makes the struggle more difficult.

Great to see. Let them tear into each other. Out of the two I think Badenoch is probably the better choice to win this scrap. She seems far less inclined to cosy up to Farage et al and that agenda.

Badenoch's politics aren't for me by a long shot, but the prospect of the likes of Braverman and Patel teaming up with Farage in a right wing nonsense shout fest is not what the country needs.

Honestly this is feels like a pointed insult at me. Telling us how we should fight our battles is laughable. You don't what Trans really is even if they hit you in the face.

The thing is when you are in this community you fight by showing love for eachother. Not by pointless shut downs of wackos on the internet.

I stand by all the community. Here a pic only two weeks ago in Naples at Gay Pride. Standing side by side and together "fighting" for ours rights and not just nationally but globally too.

I don't care how 'progressive' it might be in the modern age, but I will never, ever accept people having a lifestyle that includes putting the posts they're quoting at the bottom of their reply. I've been on internet fora for about 25 years and traditional right-minded folk put the quoted post at the top of their reply. That's the way I've always done it and it's an abomination to do it differently.

It's a sinful lifestyle these bottom-quote reply posters lead. Who knows what other deviancy they practise? I think they should undergo some sort of conversion therapy program where they learn good, wholesome, god-fearing quoting habits, possibly via some sort of electro-shock.

Isn't it a coincidence when you reply to a gay person these type of words are used.
