Don't tag me in this! I don't recall ever showing any support for Sunak, whatsoever. Indeed, I have criticized him for being a back-stabbing snake!

That said, it's a subject that will never enjoy 100% support one way or another. So, for a politician, best to play the odds...

He didn't actually say anything wrong though, and I'm sure Brianna's mother understands it's a difficult topic.

Sunak shouldn't be emotionally guilt tripped into saying something that he, and the majority of society doesn't agree with.

It no longer matters what Sunak said, meant or did, the nation has decided (with one or two odd exceptions) that it was crass and terribly timed, which has done his little reputation no good at all.

He, Starmer, broke parliamentary rules, apparently...

Starmer broke the rules by referencing people in the public gallery, and using that to bully and intimidate the opposition is against the rules of Parliamentary debate.

I called this and suggested it was a form of emotional blackmail.... I don't know how accurate this law/procedure is, but The Mogg knows his stuff.

Don't shoot the messenger!
Just checked the rules and behaviours document for parliament the two most recent versions are from 2021 and November 2023.

2021

The Mogg clearly doesn't know his stuff.

The similarities...

He was a back-stabbing snake... For that, good riddance. The party should have kept Boris.

He’s a backstabbing lightweight, who has achieved nothing…but I’m glad you are defending and supporting him…….

"Someone needs to be honest: your plan is not working, we have endured record election defeats, your resets have failed and we are running out of time. You need to change course urgently.

I may not have always found the right words, but I have always striven to give voice to the quiet majority that supported us in 2019. I have endeavoured to be honest and true to the people who put us in these privileged positions.

I will, of course, continue to support the government in pursuit of policies which align with an authentic conservative agenda."

Good letter, especially at the end of her statement... Sunak is a snake. He is a boring fence-sitter. He stands for nothing. Also true for most of our MP's on the front benches and beyond... mostly all boring, non-entities who stand for nothing. Any MP who makes a stand with strong idea's is vilified... Compromise is why this country is in a downward spiral... we need convinction.

Braverman's comment "I didn't find the right words" was true. Her comments about people living in tents were outright clumsy at best...outright ignorant and offensive at worst. I'm not sure what she thought such comments would achieve?

Still, on other subjects, I think she is correct when she says she is speaking for the "quiet majority". The voting intention of the quiet majority was badly misjudged by the left at the last general election. It could happen again...

Anyway, Labour will form the next government and Sunak and his gang of backstabbers will disappear into the obscurity they fully deserve for deposing of a leader who won them a massive majority….

When Boris was PM there was no likelihood of Starmer winning an election. Sunak was responsible for Truss because it was he who organised the backstabbing of Boris. However the wider Conservative Party members didn’t want Sunak and so we ended up with the lightweight Truss as PM. Sunak the snake then got in without a single vote from the wider party membership. We now sit in a position where Sunak is neither trusted by the wider party members, large elements of his MP’s nor those who voted for Boris and the Conservatives at the last election. That’s what I meant by single-handedly……

She was a lightweight, and I said so at the time. Sunak was a snake and should never have been put in charge. Mordaunt should have got it…….

Don’t mention him, you’ll inevitably attract people who want to tell you he was a socialist.

Astonishing!!!

Remember when Jacob Rees-Mogg went to visit the Queen to prorogue Parliament? Using 'The Mogg' 🤢 as a point of reference to backup your point just proves you're away with the fairies, no sane person on either the left or right thinks JRM 'knows his stuff'
