The top three countries we import steel from are Germany, Belgium, and Spain. It just seems like one of those heavily politicised industries whose political heft massively outweighs its actual importance to the country. I mean it's worth about 1/3 that of the video game industry, but I doubt you'd get politicians falling over themselves to declare the video game industry of strategic importance. Surely it is more important for a country to protect and control the ssupply of such an important material.
The so called gaming industry does may pull in loads of money but does not provide the basics for construction, railway transport and vehicles.
If it's so important I wonder why it's worth so little?
