Absolutely scuppered us this. We had pencilled in returning in a couple of years largely due to family support networks with a young kid. Gonna have to think of something else now as doubt labour will do anything.

I think If you're a brit you can 'sponsor' a foreign spouse to join you in the UK if you earn over a certain salary threshold. Used to be about £18k, now gone up hugely. Had a mate in the Philippines who wanted to bring his Philippine wife back with him, but he couldn't find work hitting £18k ish at the time. So this will make it pretty difficult for many I suspect.

I agree there is a massive housing crisis but where do you wish these houses to be built?

I do not want to see any more green belt land swallowed up by concrete.

Golf courses seem like a luxury we don't need in the current economic climate. Huge tracts of land just sitting there for wealthy pensioners to amble around. Pave some of those over for a start (you can keep the sandpits for the kids).

I think many get confused that their personal politics should be met on a national stage, rather than grasping the politics of the masses.

The greater good for sure. My biggest investment some would suggest is our house, now if i want to continue that investment i will want Conservative governments to restrict planning which in turn grow my investment further and quicker enabling us to down size a little and be mortgage free 10 years earlier.. Despite my social concerns outlined in another post im generally in broad agreement for more homes built for the greater good.

I think everyone has their own personal red lines though. For example a lot talking about the greater good now I’d bet didn’t vote for the greater good in 2017 and 2019

Only trouble is it will take more than one term to sort out the mess and decay. The National debt has quadrupled under the tories so I don't think we can borrow our way out of it. Imagine the news shows and the papers, they would have a field day if Labour had tried to borrow half of that. The Government owned National media have given them a free ride.
