I think there's enough gammons out there who'd vote Blue Tory if that message gets through...maybe not enough to stop a Red Tory majority, but defo narrowing any victory for them.
Can see a weak Labour coalition. The annoying thing is, most people who’ll be voting for Labour are doing so on anti Tory principles but any Labour victory will be lauded and repeated as another example of how labour have to take the ‘middle ground’ to appeal to the electorate. When this is absolutely not the truth of the matter.

The left will be destroyed again for a generation. I can understand why anyone left wing would not vote for them because of this.

The LP running on a more radical manifesto would have won in 2017 if the LP right wing bureaucracy - acting on behalf of the likes of Starmer - hadn't actively scuppered their chances to turn a hung parliament into a small majority.

IMO the likes of Momentum should return the favour this time around. Just refuse to canvass for the right wing racist cabal in control of that party.

Just quiet, and no one else can hear, but how many cabals are you currently monitoring?

Quite a sobering read. We're no longer really on a par with France and Germany (much less the US) but are now more akin to that of Poland and Slovenia (and even they're set to overtake us before long)

i expected after brexit UK would be of similar standing to the likes of Albania.
i suppose its a good way for the tories to achieve their goal of wanting no immigrants to come here.

I know porta cabins are a hell of a lot better than they were in our day. But I don't really think this is such a great boast.
Hey kid, you wanna sit in a tiny room that is crumbling, or a portacabin?
Tough choice.

About 1 in every 4 people you meet is sitting there thinking "You know what, these Tories have done a bang up job all things considered".
Even In 97, the tories got 25% of the vote and we are nowhere near that kind of landslide.
25% of the population are either having their boots licked or enjoy doing the licking.
Would say it will be closer to 35-40% by the time election comes round.

Oil's just gone up, so transportation kicks in next on goods in supermarkets, we're about to go into winter, and the help with fuel bills is over, a really cold winter with a really nasty flu or covid variant, topped up with another interest rate rise and food costs soaring again could see quite the storm brewing, especially if liz truss is grabbing headlines again like...

"The former PM also called on Rishi Sunak to cut taxes, reduce benefit increases, raise the retirement age and delay net-zero commitments."

big trouble.

You’ll not see anything radical like Truss is proposing. Depends how much of cost of living crisis can be pinned on the tories and I don’t think it will be that much and the tories can argue this is due to external factors.
Labour are better going after them on corruption and accountability grounds.

tory conference next month and they're trying to talk her out of appearing. could be trailblazing entertainment.

Sadly it looks like he's listened with regards to net zero:

Utterly stupid politics, prompted (according to that article) by the usual bright young things who've never had an actual job. As May found out to her cost, a Tory (edit) PM cannot try to appease the loon element - they've got to be smashed or they will not respect him.
