Well, well, well, the BBC - an absolutely captured organisation since before Brexit - is finally jumping the shark. I was always a huge fan. At its best, it was genuinely the best in the world - but it is past saving now in the current political climate. Abolish the license fee - because it no longer gives the general public any kind of balance as today's disgraceful disappearing of a national hero proves. I mean, the only argument for the license fee was to provide a balance and public service that Sky never would. It is now incapable of that. So no rationale remains.

Looks like the BBC will have to have a paid staffer to present, and similar for the pundits. Not sure if any pundits are actually employed by the BBC though.

Imagine the awkward and embarrassing conversations taking place now as the BBC frantically rings round the punditry world to book a few appearances tomorrow. Anybody volunteering for that is exposing themselves as, well, scabs really - and worse, as Tories. Or racists.

"So, Lawro, are you washing your hair tomorrow night or...?"

Who was the old dear that presented the opening of blue peter after Bacon got caught on the cola? They wheeled her out to explain how bad a person he was and that he had to go. Was it biddy baxter? Its a really feint recollection.
