Wow, I didn’t realise that Brexit had such an effect upon Germany…..
Well it didn't, nor did it have an effect on the UK. Imagine what the UK would look like if it didn't Brexit, would be ten times as bad imo

Because it was all going great before putins invasion I recallThanks for the irony. But I cannot make the connection between Brexit and Putin piling into the Ukraine.
I would welcome anyone squaring that particular circle...

So, serious question, why is the biggest and most robust economy in Europe, Germany, in the same boat…….
So the invasion of Ukraine, the spiralling world-wide oil prices. Brexit was directly responsible for those things?
I REALLY do give with some people.
Bye, from this thread on this matter...
Embargo's on russian oil might have a knock on effect re oil sales and pressures on other producers (great long term buddies sat around the opec table like...)There isn’t a connection between those two events. However, both events have separately contributed to the current cost of living situation. Pretty sure most sensible people are in agreement with that.
I don't know, same as why I don't know why their GDP decline is only half as bad as the UKs. Lucky you EU left when you did, because looking at that graph there is defo a negative correlation between being in the EU and the effect of the Ukraine crisis. Thank you Brexit
For reference :
Time to reform wholesale this corrupt edifice.
You can't reason with stupidity. The fact that Germany is significantly more heavily aligned with Russia for its energy and that its economy is manufacturing based and therefore more reliant on the aforementioned energy than the British economy, which still has a bit of north sea oil/gas left and is service-based and therefore less energy intensive. No, it takes more brains than you get from reading the Telegraph to figure out such things.I don't know, same as why I don't know why their GDP decline is only half as bad as the UKs. Brexit has nothing to do with it. Again, why is Germany suffering from the Pandemic and the war in Ukraine and the Energy crisis, yet everyone in here says Brexit. Please just tell me why these things only effect Germany but don’t affect the U.K. and everything is blamed on Brexit.….most Brexit supporters on here, certainly myself, said that it would have an effect upon our GDP and economy. no one pretended otherwise, so why is Germany, the heart of the EU, suffering and why cannot our EU supporting friends accept that the same issues are affecting the U.K……

Pete, I've already said Brexit has been great and defo has nothing to do with the fact that the UK has experienced much more significant GDP decline than Germany Sweden and Latvia while the likes of Denmark, Czechia, Hungary, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Austria, France, Slovakia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Estonia, Poland, Slovenia, Spain,Croatia, Greece, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Romania, Malta and my own Ireland all experienced GDP growth in the same period (statistical anomalies you have rightfully ignored). Brexit has really helped the UK stand on its own two feet in this difficult period and I honestly can't think of any reason it is rock bottom of the European GDP growth graph
Nice try, but any chance of a real answer.…..
Germany opening its coal mines up again, Bruce ...... Poland has over 300 coal mines ...... North Sea Gas was going to last forever......You can't reason with stupidity.
